Marine Atlas- Vol. 2 - Port Hardy to Skagway

Handy reference
This has all the charts in one place and is easy to use. I would want to have an actual chart and gps for some of the tight and heavy tidal flow passages.

I have used Vol. 1 for the Puget Sound and Canadian waters for many years. It provides almost as much Chart information as the NOAA charts plus copious amounts of useful information to the average weekend boater. Now our summer plans include Alaska. Vol. 2 will be going with us.

This is an excellent resource for boating the North West Coast.
We used the Atlas to help plan anchorages and routes on a trip from Vancouver to Kitimat and found it very helpful. The size is easy to use in cramped quarters. I only give it a Four star rating because it's not that easy to understand some of the labeling. Not really intuitive. But with use, it becomes easier. A good addition to any coastal boater's arsenal.
