Useless doormat
I have always considered that the main purpose of a doormat was for dirt to be removed from shoes when people enter a home. This Rockport Rope doormat is attractive and decorative. However, it is very soft, lacks rigidity, does not lie flat and if one attempts to rub or scrape one's shoes on it to remove dirt prior to entering the home, it simply buckles and bends under one's feet. Accordingly, unless you want a doormat for purely decorative purposes, this item is useless!

Best for Indoors; Has Handmade Quality
The quality of this seems pretty nice, however just unpacked so not used yet. We’re using it as an indoor rug for right when you enter from our balcony, to wipe any excess dust on and keep slippers by. It arrived a bit bent but generally in good shape, going to use a heavy object to help flatten it out. Looks handcrafted and hand woven. Would recommend for an indoor rug! Seems like it would absorb a lot of moisture, though, so would not recommend as an outdoor rug or near anything that could leak.

The best doormat!
I had coconut doormats, dyed doormats that lost color pattern in a few months, doormats with rubber backing that had water standing under them for days, and a shedding doormat... This is the best! Beautiful, looks like new after extensive wear by dogs and kids, does not slip on my flagstone patio landing, does the job of cleaning the soles of shoes. Yes, it gets wet after the rain, but so did my coconut one and all others. Even when wet it cleans the bottom of the shoe. I really like it and will get the second one.

This mat is great. I use it at my back door
This mat is great. I use it at my back door, which gets lots of wear. Beautiful, vibrant red color. When it gets dirty I just hose it off and it looks brand-new again. The only drag about using the mat outside is that it does not dry quickly. After rinsing with the hose, I do have to hang it over something to get it to dry. The drying thing is just a small inconvenience and the positive aspects of the mat overshadow it. Very happy with my purchase.

Best mat I’ve had, but still retains some moisture
My normal issue with doormats is their water retention from my irrigation system. Most doormats get soaked and remain wet and gross. This one does retain some moisture, but overall it hasn’t gotten gross and mildewed. 5-stars!
