Big Bob Gibsons Original White Sauce - 3 pack

I lived for a time in Decatur, Alabama, the location of the original Big Bob Gibson's restaurant. BBQ is such a regional dish with as many variations as there are individual restaurants it would sometimes seem. This is a thin white sauce based on vinegar and pepper that I liked from the first time I tasted it at BBG. For me it's perfect on chicken or fish. Based on other reviews, however, it's apparently not everyone's cup of sauce. This white sauce doesn't smother the more delicate flavors of chicken and fish with a lot of sweetness like a heavy, tomato-based sauce might do. For new comers, it might be nice to be able to buy a three-pack of three different BBG-BBQ sauces to get an idea of what's out there. If you haven't grown up with this sauce, keep an open mind when you try it; you might like it as I do.

Off the hook sauce! I made a crock pot of chicken with it! Everybody loved it! Will be gifting bottles! Highly recommend! 😋

All with a smile and fun... Flavor is good. But not great to this California Boy. I think you need to acquire this flavor on meat over time, as a youngster. Little bit strong vinegar base, but that is what it is. Overall not bad, just not great to me. I put on a Roasted Grilled Chicken, just parts after grilling. A smoked chicken might be better for this semi strong sauce. In the end guess I am a bbq sauce man. Now before I sound like I look down on them southern folks and their flavors. I come from a history of mustard on my corn beef hash via 1970s and my parents who grew up Pittsburgh, Pa. So I have regional acquired tastes in this 65yr old man LOL. Worth trying. Who knows, maybe you will love it. Is a well made product.

Had read about this white sauce and thought we would give it a try. What a disappointment! It tastes like a lackluster version of watered down ranch dressing and has the same consistency... Multiple dinner guests agreed. Only once prior to this have I ever provided a negative review.... I'll stick with good old fashioned barbeque sauce in the future!

Good flavor and great value but would prefer a little thicker sauce for grilling.

This is a very good sauce. I grew up eating Big Bob’s chicken and I love this. I do add a small amount of sweetener or sugar - 1/2 packet for example to the bottle sauce. For me , i add a cap of apple cider vinegar because it’s a preference. I baste the chicken with sauce — as it cooks on the grill with a silicone brush. I also put the sauce in a small grill sauce pan with the chicken cooking po and smoke it (indirect heat after it’s warmed and don’t boil it). I always serve some extra sauce on the side. I use hickory wood chips for smoke. It is addicting.
