Product Description A slick, young Navy lawyer is assigned to investigate a murder case in which two Marines killed a fellow enlisted man, and no one's talking. Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson and Demi Moore star. desertcart.com A U.S. soldier is dead, and military lawyers Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee and Lieutenant Commander JoAnne Galloway want to know who killed him. "You want the truth?" snaps Colonel Jessup (Jack Nicholson). "You can't handle the truth!" Astonishingly, Jack Nicholson's legendary performance as a military tough guy in A Few Good Men really amounts to a glorified cameo: he's only in a few scenes. But they're killer scenes, and the film has much more to offer. Tom Cruise (Kaffee) shines as a lazy lawyer who rises to the occasion, and Demi Moore (Galloway) gives a command performance. Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, J.T. Walsh, and Cuba Gooding Jr. (of Jerry Maguire fame) round out the superb cast. Director Rob Reiner poses important questions about the rights of the powerful and the responsibilities of those just following orders in this classic courtroom drama. --Alan Smithee Review: Great Movie - Ok, I'm 43 years old and I had never seen this movie! My husband of 25 years this year couldn't believe it. He said, "It has all of your 'things'! It has lawyers, men in uniform, young Tom Cruise, Kevin Bacon, Demi Moore, Jack Nicholson, moral delimas, mystery, & a great script including classic one liners! How have you not seen this movie?" He was right! It is excellent! If you haven't seen it (surely there are more like myself who haven't), you need to watch it! Review: A great drama movie. - A fantastic movie where Tom Cruise portrays a lawyer defending two Marines that committed a crime because of the poor leadership of their superior.

great modern classic
I watch this “classic” movie with my teenage daughter. The actors are as great as I remember and the message certainly hit me in a different way in 2025/2026.

Can You Handle The Truth?
Thanks for reading in advance A Few Good Men is a 1992 American legal drama film directed by Rob Reiner and starring Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, and Demi Moore, with Kevin Bacon, Kevin Pollak, Cuba Gooding Jr., Wolfgang Bodison, James Marshall, J. T. Walsh, and Kiefer Sutherland in supporting roles. It was adapted for the screen by Aaron Sorkin from his 1989 play of the same name and includes contributions by William Goldman. The film revolves around the court-martial of two U.S. Marines charged with the murder of a fellow Marine and the tribulations of their lawyers as they prepare a case to defend their clients. As someone who has never served in the military, I always find it important to comment on how easy it is to follow the story and understand the details reveal to the audience when critiquing these types of films; ‘A Few Good Men’ Has jargon and slang peppered into its dialogue as it is appropriate, but all details relative to the overarching plot are explained in a way that any audience member can understand. It is possible to get lost in some of the language that is casually thrown around as jests or used for some amount of dramatic effect, but attention is immediately redirected to the most important matters at hand. I obviously can't speak for people in the military, but this does feel like one film that military and non-military personnel can watch together and get similar impressions about the characters and have similar understanding of the entire court-related process. Perhaps, most importantly, this film does a great job of underscoring the moral complexities that can be involved with serving in the United States Marine Corps (Or, the military in general); I was blown away at the amount of insight that was provided about the context in which the aforementioned murder was committed; more-over, the transparency in which characters discuss the relevance of things such as honor and loyalty have when these serious infractions occur have real-world implications that should not be ignored. This conscious effort to present the facts is elevated by the outstanding (although sometimes dramatic) performances of all those involved - Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise especially - and does not fall on deaf ears. Compelling, thought-provoking, and relatively down-to-earth: I would recommend!

I bought this several months ago as a birthday gift for one of my relatives. It was very well received. Most of the people in my family had seen this film in its' theatrical release. I have seen at least a couple of times since on DVD. A rewatch of this film with the relative who received it reminded me why it is such an effective legal drama. Amazons' efficiency in sending along so quickly - it came as soon as advertised, which was very nice; that is great business - shows why they are a reliable seller.
