The precision of the connector parts and moldings is excellent; this one takes a very slightly higher insertion force than a genuine Apple Lightning connector, but not as much as some other extensions. The plug housing is oversized about as much as on other braid-wrapped cables from Amazon Basics or Anker, and not too large for most cases.I noticed that the female receptacle only has contacts along one side, and no indication of which is the top or bottom side. Although Lightning connections are orientation independent, the signals are typically only present on one side of the connector. Extending only half of the connections saves on the number of wires in the cable and keeps the size down and flexibility up, but introduces a 50/50 chance of extending the inert side of your existing plug instead of the active side, and a cable plugged in like this will seem broken no matter which way you insert the plug.If you run into this problem (as it was when I first tested mine), reconnect your plug with the receptacle end of this cable flipped over and it should work, and in either orientation. This would be annoying if you need to create temporary extensions on-the-go but for set-it-and-forget-it applications like extending car multimedia connectors, it's fine.

Did exactly what I needed it to do. It's really nice to have a lighter, quality cable like this to connect to my phone when I want to use my Lightning-To-HDMI Adapter and not the huge adapter dangling from my lightning port. This just makes the setup much cleaner and easier to manage. I haven't had any issues with the cable becoming faulty or not working at all, but I'm pretty careful with my tech.

This cable feels good to the touch and seems well made. However, it doesn't work right with the Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter (aka "Camera Connection Kit" or CCK).I bought this cable to extend the distance between my iPad Pro and the CCK since the CCK’s Lightning cable isn't very long. For my application (iPad mounted horizontally on a clamp arm) it means the CCK dangles awkwardly off to the side. This cable was meant to resolve that, but unfortunately it only sort of works.The cable provided power to the iPad while connected between the iPad and the CCK, but the USB leg of the CCK stopped working. I tried inserting the cable’s Lightning connector into the iPad both ways since I saw another review that warned that the cable only works in one orientation. As soon as I removed this cable and connected the CCK directly to the iPad, the USB device connected to the CCK woke up and my iPad could see it again.Alas, I ended up returning this cable.

Didn't fit securely. Would disconnect if I moved my phone. Using for music, so no good for me. connector wiggles in the phone some.

Use this in my BMW as an alternative to their $$$ stuff so I can listen to music and charge the phone. Like it so far.

I have this extension cord connected to a Belkin Ethernet adapter, which in turn has a standard Apple 12W charger connected. I can confirm that the extension cable passes through both power and data - the Ethernet connection has worked without a problem. Using the adapter really cleans up my setup; I can now keep the Ethernet adapter hidden away behind my monitor.If I don't report back, it means the extension cord is still working!

bought it as an adapter for my car stereo . I have a 2008 infiniti and its old hook up for i phonewas too short .This is an excellent upgrade so now I can listen to the music on my stereo from my phone .
