Edge of Eternity

This trilogy has kept me waiting for each new book in the series, interweaving lives and storylines like only Follett can. It took me days to work through Book Three: very enjoyable days. This is not just a monster book, it's the third in a series of monsters, and totally engrossing to say the least. Continuing on where Book Two left off, we follow another generation of the families we've read about in the two previous books.This volume seems all the more poignant, though, as it covers events I remember: the civil rights movement in the US, the Berlin wall, Kennedy's assassination, and so on. Follett interweaves these events with the family stories so they are interlock and make sense in context, each influencing the other. This is a massive effort for a writer, and one Follett has mastered. At the end of the book, I just wished the trilogy would add another book...or two.Truly a masterpiece of writing, plot development, and consistently brilliant storytelling, this was the book of the year for me. I can't recommend this trilogy highly enough to anyone who loves a good story.

Para ser de segunda mano, el libro está genial: de aspecto limpio, sin nada escrito y el precio es increíble. La cubierta está un poco rozada pero...nada importante. Llegó enseguida. Parece nuevo. Las hojas tienen un tacto muy suave y algo satinadas.

大聖堂の時代から、フォレットの大ファンです。このシリーズの１作目、２作目も、２回ずつ聞きました。キューバ危機、ベルリンの壁など、１作、２作の世界大戦に比べると、迫力は欠けるように思いますが、西ベルリンに脱出するシーンなどは、緊迫感があって、さすがはフォレットという描写です。
