This Moose Belongs to Me
We chose this book as it's one of my daughter's 50 reads books for year 3.I think they include a few picture books in the 50 reads list because they can still teach children an awful lot about how stories work and how characters perceive things. The story is about Wilfred a young boy who thinks he owns a moose. He has a list of "pet rules" that the moose is expected to follow - which the moose does some of the time - and he spends a lot of time out and about with the moose. But does he really own the moose? The moose is just going about being a moose. But Wilfred doesn't see that, and this leads to a little bit of conflict when he finds out that the moose also visits other people. I love the questions it raises - who does the moose belong to? Is the moose following the rules? Why does Wilfred think the moose belongs to him? There is actually so much to talk about from this simple story. A great book to have on your shelf when you want to think about how multiple perspectives work.(It ties in very well with another book on the 50 reads list Voices in the Park, which is also about multiple perspectives).Overall - we loved it, and it's definitely a keeper.

We love this book!
The book is beautifully illustrated, as always. The story is wonderful and made us laugh. We have enjoyed reading all of Oliver Jeffers books, alongside him, as part of homeschooling at the moment. A great story!

Another Excellent Book By Oliver Jeffers
Another great book. Though it has a very different feel to is compared to Lost & Found, How To Catch A Star and Up & Down. Jeffers has uses the book to illustrate using numerous different artistic techniques and styles which vary though the book (you get the feeling he had a lot of fun painting some big epic landscapes). I realise kids won't care about this but it does make it a fun book just to look at the pictures. As ever it has the typical quirky story that is bound to keep adults and kids amused. Maybe not his best work but then the bar is so high with Jeffers books that even this is excellent. Highly recommended.

Popular with my 6 year old daughter
My 6 year old daughter had to read this for homework (year 2) and really enjoyed it. She gave it 5 out of 5 and found it funny.Review by 38 year old mum of two littles who is a solicitor and horse riding and book fanatic :)
