Great overview of key modern art pieces. Just the right level of detail for somebody who wants to get some background on each piece but who doesn’t have the spare time to read a detailed history. High quality images. Very enjoyable.

I was very disappointed with this book. The art chosen to represent the year ( or what they call art) was awful. But thats just my opinion.

Agnes Berecz has created an incredible compendium of what is Contemporary Art, how it has evolved, its essence, its definitions, and a tour which is a feast for the eyes. Her prose is impeccable, her explanations most lucid, giving life to the abstract, to the plethora of art forms, within a remarkably succinct delivery. This book educates the reader about Contemporary Art, and is a necessary add to anyone's library of knowledge. There is nothing like this out there for the lay viewer or those who know more about Art for that matter. This book is a masterpiece for the ages. It is a treat for the eyes, and a joy for the mind's eye.

This is a very good book for a quick introduction to modern art. The size is very big and the images are of very good quality. We enjoy it with my daughter so no complaints.
