They're not too bad
Other reviews were pretty negative, but I needed some weights for travel, so I ordered them anyway. The manufacturer must have been paying attention to the reviews, since they now include a funnel in the package. When full of water, yes the circumference is significantly smaller than when they are empty, but my ankles must be small, because they fit ok. The one thing about velcro is that it would be easy to add an extension if you need it. My main worry is the glue that holds the velcro on - you can't be rough with these. Oh, and they smell strongly of PVC, but that's to be expected of anything that's made like a pool toy. Just be gentle with them and they will work. And when you travel, pack the funnel separately, since its pointy end is sharp and could easily puncture the weights.

great for travelling
I need to work out with weights every day to fight osteoporosis. I used to carry regular ankle weights in my (or my husband's) carry-on luggage. We always got stopped at security. I decided to try these aquabelles and ordered them to be shipped to my destination because I was afraid they wouldn't get to my house in time. They arrived before I did! They were great. I had no trouble filling or emptying them and they fit fine. I used them on my ankles and held them to do my arm exercises too (rather than spend the money for separate hand weights). My only suggestion is that they make them capable of holding more weight.

DO NOT BUY -- THEY DO NOT CLOSE = TOTALLY USELESS
DO NOT BUY--THEY DO NOT WORK! I should've heeded all the other bad reviews saying the same thing.(1) When filled to even half capacity (4 lbs each), the velcro straps don't reach AT ALL to close them. I tried every which way. So they're totally useless. (And I'm skinny, 105 lbs, skinny ankles.) I'm not convinced they'd close/close well at 3 lbs. either. Maybe 2 lbs. But b/c of the way the water sits I think it'd be uneven and awkward.(2) The webpage info says capacity is 8 lbs. each, but when I got the manufacturer instructions with it, it says 4-lbs. each capacity. I use 4 lbs. of weight each normally, and when filling each to 4 lbs., there's no way it could hold much more. But regardless, the straps don't reach at even 4 lbs.(3) There's no markings for weight as you fill, so you'd need to use a measuring cup, but that's not practical for travel.(4) The filling hole is so small it takes forever. You can use a funnel, though that takes even longer.I am frustrated b/c there are no other travel weights I could find, on Amazon or otherwise, for those who must do physical therapy on the road.

Great option for travel!
After reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant about ordering this weight set. But, I needed a set of weights to take to Europe on a long trip. I found I had absolutely no problem filling them to my desired weight. And, I had no problem at all with leaks. They were also easy to empty and are waiting for my next trip.

They are nice, but I thought it was fillable up to 8 lbs EACH not TOTAL!!!!. Just be careful when handling, the velcro can easily rip from the plastic.

Too small when filled.
I was hoping the company had improved the product since the last reviews I read have been from some time ago.I agree with earlier reviewers - you need a funnel to fill them with. It's really difficult in the small hotel sinks. Also, when they are full, the velcro is not long enough to get it all the way around my ankle. My solution is to use less water, but wish I could use them to their full potential.

Similar problems as other customers with this product
As others have already reported, these water weights do not have a long enough velcro to strap them on your ankles once they have water in them. Also the opening for filling with water is very tiny and requires a funnel and takes a long time. Plus the nozzle does not push down into place as it should. All these problems could easily be solved. Take a lesson from CamelBak water systems and have a larger opening with a screw-on lid. And just lengthen the velcro!

Poor quality!
After the 3rd time of using them, the velcro strap came loose on one of the weights. I feel it was of poor quality. It's a good concept for travelers, but the company needs to improve it's quality control.
