Bioré Bior brightening exfoliating scrub, 3.5 fluid ounces, to exfoliate and even skin tone, for all skin types

I was skeptical about trying this face cleanser because so many, including from brands like Neutragena and Cetaphil, have not made much of a difference with my skin.I've been fighting adult acne since I was pregnant with my youngest child and it has been a terrible ride. I have tried expensive prescriptions, expensive cleansers and creams, and organic products like African black soap and raw shea butter.I purchased my first bottle of this at a grocery store and used it as directed for a week -- and immediately ordered a second bottle on bimonthly subscription here. Did I break out initially? Yes. Did the cleanser smell like lemon and/or ginseng? Not at all, not gonna lie. Was it at least clean smelling? Definitely.There is a small amount of fine microbeads in this product. Usually those irritate my acne prone skin but these seem to be more for lifting dirt out of your pores instead of flaying your flesh. A little more than a quarter sized dollop of cleanser + some water makes a nice lather, then you massage it into your face for a full minute followed by 30 seconds of rinsing. This is the important part as it helps the surfactants carry off all the dirt and excess oils; I use cool water for the last step because my skin is sensitive and it helps close your pores.So, week 1 was a little crazy. On the first day I used this, my skin felt A M A Z I N G. It was soft, it was smooth, it was 100% clean. But every time you change products, your face freaks out and this was no exception.Week 2, the breakout spots were mostly flat (thanks, hydrocolloid patches) and my skin was again soft and brighter, as advertised.I'm on week 3 now (5/8/21) and the acne has cleared up with just 1x daily use. There are a few red spots but normally by now I'd have some oily bumps on my jawline or forehead. Nothing new has popped up. My skin is practically glowing and I'm excited for the red spots to fade so I can enjoy the skin I had pre-pregnancy 😍I'll update if anything goes wildly wrong but for now : If you're an adult with acne prone skin, I recommend this product. It is gentle but thorough and improved the texture of my skin in less than a month. I might add their weekly scrub from the same yuzu lemon line if trends continue, and try the face mask!
