Edible Paradise: A Coloring Book of Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables

High quality book! I took a chance on this one - no reviews, no inside peak, author has no other books - and I am 100% pleased! This book's quality is right up there with the other top quality adult coloring books (like Secret Garden, Time Chamber etc).Images are all fruits and veggies which is a nice change from most coloring book themes. It's double sided and the paper is thick (but I wouldn't use markers on this -- fine liner ones will be ok though ) so I would stick to colored pencils and gel pens.Artwork is high quality. Book is arranged by seasons. I'd say it's about 50/50 with two page spreads and single page images. I've attached some pics of the pages so you can see for yourself. There is also a key that tells you what these fruits and veggies are, so if you want to color them realistically, you can look up the produce online to see the real colorsI hope the author makes more books!

I'm painting all the illustraions in this book using a waterbrush and a variety of paints (some with Koi and Cotmans, and now with Daniel Smith). The paper is good..it does buckle a bit, but I find it to just be a pleasant bit of crinkling. :-). I use the waterbrush because you definitely dont want to get the paper too wet and note that the paper won't handle much more than two light washes and very little scrubbing. I am learning watercolor and love it, but have a long ways to go on the drawing front. This book is providing me many hours of relaxation just focusing on the painting. It would be great with Inktense or watercolor pencils as well!

I waited for some reviews before ordering...and in this case, it sure wasn't necessary. The drawings in this book are lovely...they will be a lot of fun to color. The other reviews contain the specifics you need to know...suffice it to say that this author is one I have added to my "watch for future books" list (and I won't feel the need to wait for reviews next time).

I love this book! I don't have the biggest fascination for fruits and vegetables but I do love their colors so I thought buying this could help me experiment with my water coloring skills. Because the drawings are all very natural-looking (rather than the perfect lines you see from computer generated) and so thin, that after painting, it almost looks like you drew it as well! Something you can frame when you're finished. The paper is really high quality so it lends itself to water colors, acrylic, crayons or color pencils. I'd buy this again (or a variation of it).

The artwork in this book is very high-quality and the pictures have quite a bit of detail so they are a lot of fun and keep your mind busy. I like that the artist included so many different fruits and vegetables and that they are easily distinguishable, even without the guide provided. The pages are dual sided, but the paper quality is good, so using most pens or markers is not an issue. I recommend testing them on a blank page before using them in the book, just to ensure they do not bleed through.There is a good variety of complexity in this colour book so even the colourists who enjoy more complicated drawings will find something here. This would make a great gift for someone in your life who loves to color, or for the gardener. Recommended.

This is a beautiful work of illustrations!! The pages are smooth. I love the intricate designs that require attention to the detail. A great distraction/stress reliever! The only "issue" I have (and it is very minor) is I've noticed some of the drawings have lines that don't connect to anything, or don't make a complete shape. Again, very small issue and it just means i have to get creative and fill in the blanks myself.

If you love coloring books and food, then you will love this book. I had the opportunity to meet the author/illustrator at a book signing she hosted in Chicago, and it was so lovely to hear about how this labor of love of hers came to life. You will spend many hours coloring in the fine details, and will start to see your every day food items as a true inspiration for art. At the very least, you will definitely appreciate them while eating them!

This book has been on my list since it came out and I finally broke down and bought it, even though food is not the first thing I think of coloring. The art in this, is truly beautiful. The paper is fantastic. There isn't one thing I would change about this beautiful book. If you're thinking of getting it, but are unsure, buy it! I would rate it in the top 95% of books that I own (which is too many).

lovely book .

I got this colouring book today on Amazon.in Absolutely gorgeous. The drawings are detailed without being overwhelming. The paper is thick and textured. I think the drawings are inspired by the Botanical art style. The artist has taken so much care and effort on this book. I am surprised this is not competing for attention with the more popular colouring books. More surprising, there are very few videos on colouring in this book......I wonder why.
