What is the maximum resistance?

There are 4 springs included. 2 Blue and 2 Yellow. The Blue Spring has a resistance of 7-28 lbs, and the yellow Spring has a resistance of 9-39 lbs. Each spring is measured by minimum resistance at 15" stretch and 30" for the maximum. So the maximum resistance possible is 134 lbs at full stretch.

when setting up the reformer, how far away from the walls should you set up the reformer?

I would get on it on your back and stretch your legs out wide to the side. Get your self enough clearance that you can reach but not touch your walls. That will give enough room then to do the "feet in straps" movements properly

How long is the cushion you lay on?

My husband is 5'11" and he is fine, but there are measurements. Some machines have longer cushions than others
