Positive: my 3 year old daughter loved this present she received for Christmas. It is a wind up ballerina music box (and she could operate the wind up mechanism herself), playing swan lake. She danced around happily pretending to be a ballerina as the music played. She kept a bracelet and some temporary tattoos she reveived from a recent party bag inside.Downside: Unfortunately the closing mechanim is very weak and every time we closed the lid and pulled down the catch, it just popped straight back open again. The catch is somehow too weak or not deep enough to hold the weight of the ballerina down inside the box.Returning as a result.

Bought for my Granddaughter as a birthday present. She loves it, the windup mechanics are good quality and easy to use, I think it would be difficult to overwind as it does not allow winding beyond a certain point.The ballerina in the box is attached to a spring which bends down on closing and stops the music.The music is tchaikovsky's sleeping beauty, which is very pleasant and ok to listen to over again as the box is opened and closed.This is a great box for jewellery, trinkets or little treasures.A great addition to any girls dressing table.

I had one of these music boxes when I was a child. Fast-forward 30 years and I couldn't believe it when I stumbled across this item on Amazon! I just had to purchase one for my daughter for her birthday. Sweet little ballerina inside who spins around, and the music is very charming. Slightly overpriced in my opinion hence 4 out of 5 stars, but I would recommend this product.

I spent ages looking for a music box for my niece that wasn't pink and cheap looking, and I'm glad I bought this, she loves it.It apparently glows in the dark (the stars I expect), but I haven't seen it to check, but overall it is a nice box, plays music from Swan Lake and has nice lining. I'm glad I gambled on this, it's much nicer than everything else I've seen.

I'm 46 and had one of these when I was 10 and it had long gone. I was overjoyed to see the exact same jewellery box for sale. I had to have it! Sits nicely on my dressing table and makes me think of when I had the original one.
