Mego Guy Gardner
The legendary jerk of the Green Lantern Corps gets his own Retro Action figure. I never thought I would have a mego-style Guy Gardner to set on my shelf with my Mego collection. For being a lesser known character, they seem to have gone all-out with Guy Gardner. His costume requires more detail than a typical Green Lantern, and Retro Action got it just right. His clunky belt and boots are highly detailed. His head sculpt has the appropriate sneer. I wish his face was more "Mego-like"--it looks too much like a modern action figure. But the sculptures did a great job capturing the look and feel of Guy Gardner. This is a good, sturdy figure that stands on its own and can be posed. One of the big complaints with the Retro Action line is that the bodies can be pretty floppy. My Black Manta will lean on something, but there's no way it will stand upright on its own. No problem with Guy Gardner. He is an upright guy, after all! While I am happy with this figure--I love me some Guy Gardner--I think the DC Retro Action figures went overboard with the Green Lantern figures. They are cool, and I am happy to have them, but I would have rather had a classic figure like Supergirl, Batgirl, or the Joker. They seem to have discontinued this line, which is a shame. I would happily buy more!

Lower on the Corps food chain but tops on the Retro Action Scale
This latest release from Mattelโs DC Comics Retro Action Super Heroes is another hit right out of the park. While for me Hal Jordan will always be the one and only Green Lantern, I accept the fact that the Corps is a much larger entity. And now thanks to the 8 inch style of figures these other Corps members are being released Iโm even more inclined to invite them all into my Toy Box. In all seriousness though the line is improving with each new release. More costume details, improved bodies and of course Mego style goodness these figures will continue to grow on the hardcore Mego fans if given a chance and for the new recruits of 8 inch collecting as well. You can see more of my thoughts on this figure and detailed pics by google searching JIms Toy Box Guy Gardner.

Nicely done.
My son is 45 years old and I still buy him toys for Christmas. I'm either a failure as a mother or a great success. I'm not sure which. I like the figures from the Retro Series because they remind me of the Mego's I bought for my son when he was a little kid.

Mego megalomaniac.
Might be the best Mego-like figure of the Mattel line (Two-Face might be a tad better). Awesome detail and joints are good.
