Question 1

Does the hinge need to be a Blum hinge or will it work on other hinges? I have a Euro Hinge and I'd like to purchase the Blumotion products.

Ok, so I just ordered 24 of these adapters, and overall they work great. I did some recent renovations to only my island cabinets, so ended up with two different types of hinges, both "European style", the newest being Blum hinges, and not sure what the older brand is. So comparing both hinges, here is my take on the situation:For the Blum brand, the adapters click right on to the hinges. I found I only needed one adapter per door, and the soft close worked just fine. For the other "unknown" European hinges I have, I used two adapters per door, as the soft close was not quite enough with just one per door. If you're not sure the brand of your European hinge, here's what to look for: on your hinge where it screws into the cabinet, there should be a small square/ rectangle shape. This is where the adapter attaches to the hinge. So if you've got that squarish shape on your hinge, you should be good. If you're still unsure, go to your local big box hardware store and pick up two adapters (about $6 each retail), and see if they work on your hinges, and how many you'll need per door.If they work, buy what you need from amazon at half the price.

For the 20 pack, are there 20 in the pack, or is a pack of 20 pairs, for a total of 40?  Thanks!

They mean 20 total pieces not 20 pairs. After two years installed in our home I am still a big fan of these. Not a single complaint. One thing to think about, I only installed one of these on each cabinet door, not one per hinge. Even on two taller doors with three hinges I only installed one of these. All doors close smoothly and quietly. You may want to try this before ordering one for each hinge.
