Great IOT thermostat.
Cheapest IOT thermostat I could find. Controls electric heater through a relay. Can observe space temp and change setting through Smartthings App.

No longer supported via wifi
It was fine for a few years but as of a couple days ago they quit supporting their App and it can only be used manually. A Wifi hermostat that doesn't support WiFi is not worth much.

Great functionality for the money, install is a b!tch
This is so much better than the overpriced honeywell thermostats for a 7-day schedule with option for wifi connectivity. I didn't do the wifi module yet, but it's only $10 extra so maybe in the future. The wifi module requires constant power so you need to either have it available or run more wire. I'm waiting until my attic is not 110f at 10am.161023: after having to re-wire for the 3rd time, I'm really wishing this had a backer plate. The screw holes are tough to access with a multi screw driver, it's very cramped and the screw heads are tiny Also, the programming screen is temperamental, it's tough to go from 1215 to 1230 or back to 1200. The 'copy day' function never worked for me, so I had to manually program all 7 days. The backer plate with wiring would be very handy in this situation, just grab off the wall and drink a beer while programming.

Works Great
Works great, and mine actually came with the z-wave module even though it said it didn't.

Nice features but flaky and unreliable
I’ve had the CT30 for about 3-4 years as part of a Vivint home automation install. I put batteries in it regularly and have it wired to the AC to help conserve battery life.I like the functionality of the thermostat but find it very unreliable. On the Vivint Z-wave network it would often go missing (it’s only 10 feet from the controller) or be unresponsive. I thought maybe it was the Vivint controller and they replaced it with an updated version - still the thermostat goes missing. This is very concerning because I travel a lot and the winters here in the north can be quite frigid. I rely on my home automation to help maintain my home at a reasonable safe temperature to avoid hard freezes and yet save energy and money.I put in a Aeon Z-wave controller on my computer and have been using Indigo home automation software. I decided since the RTC seemed flaky on the Vivint maybe I would move it to the Aeon Z-wave controller. I did that and find that it is just as flaky. I’ve been running it now for about 3-6 months on the Aeon Z-wave controller and it is very unreliable. Often times it won’t respond to a ‘Status’ message and messages to change the temperature get lost.So not sure if it is the RTC product, an early release or what. I do know I won’t buy another RTC product at this point with this kind of performance. A frozen house because of a $75 (or more) flaky thermostat isn’t worth it!
