soft and comfy
I always sleep in cotton gowns, but I'd been curious about this one for a long time and decided to give it a try. The purple one was almost half the price of the other ones, so I got that one. It's a medium purple and looks just like the picture. It's not see through. How does it fit? I got a small, which according to their size chart is an 8-10. I'm 5'6" and weigh about 155 lb. I measure 38-32-40. The small fits just right. The length hits about 3 or 4 inches above my ankles. How does it feel? The fabric reminds me of slip material. It is soft and silky. It feels very light. We're still sleeping on flannel sheets since it's chilly at night and I wondered if it would get staticky; it did not. I also wondered I'd be bothered by the embroidered petals and I haven't. They are stitched from soft, silky thread that feels the same as the gown. I can't really feel them at all when I'm wearing it.What does it look like? It looks like a gown my mom would've worn when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s lol. That said, I do like it, whether for nostalgia or just beacuse it' s a simple, pretty, and comfortable nightgown. The only thing I don't really like are the petals. I think these give it a particularly dated look. I wish it was offered in a plainer version without the petals.

Comfort and Modesty at a Great Price
Shadow line is an old friend of mine. I have a gown made by them that is about 30 years old and still looks and wears like new. This new one has the same quality material, lovely embroidery, wears like no other gown, and is modest enough you can go without a bath robe over it. This material washes like a dream and wears beautifully. If you want comfort at a reasonable price, Shadowline is perfect and their gowns make great gifts for special occasions. I highly recommend Shadowline for anyone who seeks comfort.

Perfect. A real sleeping gown for women
Just purchased this gown in pink for the second time in 2021 after purchasing one in purple back in 2016. I needed a second gown to switch into, as I have worn the other one to death. The material is still good. But I noticed discoloration at the neck area over time, which is normal for such long use of the item. This is the only sleep gown that I purchase for it's length, coverage, durability, and material. It allows for coverage to the legs. And it's not too thick or too thin. Perfect for summer months.

LOVE THE MATURE COLOR OF BLACK!
For others brands which are somewhat like this gown, I have paid $10-$15 more. The nylon was thicker than other brands, more security around family. The size I picked out fit perfectly. Shadowline has been around since I was a young girl, a trusted brand who have been in business for years so I knew it would be quality. I was glad to find this long nightgown in BLACK. Seems most manufacturers believe grown women want to wear pastel child like colors. Some of us want the privacy and a mature look of BLACK. This was a first time I had seen Shadowline offer a gown other than pastel colors. I feel this transaction was a Five Star deal all the way around and would like to purchase more.

Love This Gown!
Shadowline has lived up to it's name. The fabric is extremely smooth to the touch and still very strong. The color is true to the picture and stays vibrant washing after washing, with machine drying, and comes out without wrinkles. If you are standing with a bright light behind you, the person in front of you could see your lower leg outline thru the fabric. But the gown fabric is not sheer and you could comfortably wear it in front of kids or overnight company without fear of 'see-thru' on the top or bottom. I have had other Shadowline night gowns and they have lasted for years and years. They are comfortable - do not bind in the armpits nor does the appliqué at the neckline itch or rub. The gown is full enough to allow easy leg movement in bed - you can side sleep, back sleep or be in a fetal position and the skirt is not too tight. Love this gown!

Scratchy bodice/neckline! Runs very large too!
I'm so disappointed in this gown. I've worn Shadowline for years - always happy with the comfort, length, and quality of the material - but this one is going back, and now I'm afraid to buy anything by Shadowline again.First of all, inside of the neckline/bodice is SUPER itchy - the skin-side of the design and the seam. At first I thought I could put up with it, but then I noticed a blistery rash had formed! (I washed it first just like I do all new clothing - in vinegar water to set the color and then with fragrance-free, additive free, hypoallergenic detergent.)Secondly, it runs VERY large. I'm 5'8" and 165 pounds and definitely not a size "small" - but at the advice of other customers, I ordered a size small, and it's STILL too big. Who made these gowns? Polar bears? Finally, the sleeves are shorter than shown on the model. The sleeves on mine barely go past the top of my shoulders, and I have small shoulders and thin arms.Returning it and continuing my search for that perfect long nightgown.

Too comfortable! If there is such a thing!
I don’t know about how soft these are, but they are really smooth!I forgot all about this type of gown and was buying flannel, knits. These gowns are so much more comfortable, being as they don’t bunch up and I don’t get crazy twisted up while sleeping. They are roomy and nothing at all scratchy in the embroidery or seams. They even make it very easy to remove the tags if you wish.I have three colors, one is black that I bought the matching robe.I love these and can’t see myself wearing anything different going forward.

Excellent Quality and Workmanship
I love this nightgown. The fabric is a substantial nylon tricot knit, which is hard to find. It's advantage is that it gives when you turn in bed rather than binding like the woven nightgown fabrics usually found in stores. Unlike less expensive tricot gowns I've purchased, this fabric does not pill or show wear easily. My 2-year-old gown looks as good as the one I recently purchased. The length is generous, reaching almost to the floor on my 5'4" frame. This means that if it rides up some in bed, it still covers my knees, which tend to get cold. It is definitely a good buy, even though less expensive gowns are available.

Disappointed
Sadly the nightdress arrived dirty so was sent back. Would have been noticed at packi g stage without doubt.

This product fits so nice. True to size
This Night gown is so nice. The material is silky smooth and feels good. Now I’m 5-4 and 122 lbs. I can wear a medium and it fits perfect. However I like my Night gowns loose so I’m going to buy a large next time just because I want it a little big. I don’t mind having both sizes, I’ll wear whatever gown I’m in the mood for that day. This gown is worth the money. It washes and hang drys beautifully with softener. That’s my personal preference on how to dry these gowns. I want one in every colour. I love them.

Pretty but too small
Very pretty; pure nylon ;has static because of the dry winter weather but would probably feel nice and cool in summer if it fit; width and length is fine but the upper body part arm hole and neck are like a size medium even though it’s supposed to be extra large; I would’ve like to give it a four-star but can’t because the fit is very strange at the top

Awesome
Love love love. This is like the beautiful nighties of yesteryear. It's thin and gliwy but not too see through. The ref colour is gorgeous. I'm 5' tall and 155 pound the large is a little big but I like it because I like sleepwear loose. Would order again. Too bad they are so expensive.

Stain on new nightgown. Unimpressed.
I didn't notice when I bought it, but after the first wash I found a stain on the fabric that would not come out. I should have checked the nightgown more thoroughly when I took it out of the box. I love Shadowline nighties. They are my favorite and on Amazon they are very affordable, however, I think the stain might be why they're being sold so cheap. This is not the first review that mentioned a stain on the fabric so please beware.
