True confessions - I'm addicted to black licorice. Not the kind of polite addiction that is appropriate for the drawing room, where one can unobtrusively slurp a tasty string of licorice in polite company...(but even that is somewhat awkward.) No, this is like the craving one gets when addicted to a 'substance.' I do believe my love of this licorice borders on substance abuse. AND ....I confess, I find it almost impossible to moderate my 'use' of this delectable substance after it's prompt arrival on my doorstep. But then, a good supplier knows that a true lover of licorice cannot wait. (Two days is bad enough.) The texture, flavor and stringiness are perfect. The ideal string licorice on which to become 'strung out." (NOTA BENE: Using a metaphor for a substance abuse in this review is meant to be comedic....I'm not an addict and I don't play one on TV.)

i was very disappointed With my purchase. The laces are thick and gummy and cut into small pieces. Without much flavor. This is my second purchase of these laces. The first time the laces were thin, long and tasty. Probably won't take the chance of ordering these again. I may ask for my money back.

I looked forward to these coming and I was not disappointed. They are very fresh and have a wonderful smell of black licorice and a wonderful taste to match! It has the nice brown/black color that real black licorice should have. It was nice to see that the very first ingredient is molasses, yum! The only thing bad about these licorice strings is that I can't stop eating them. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

This is the string that never ends ... it goes on and on, my friend ... some people started eating it not knowing what it was and will continue eating it forever just because ... this is the string that never ends... AND it has wonderful, full-bodied licorice flavor with a hint of rose and a bouquet of anise up the nose. AND you can tie packages with it and make swirly things and practice your surgeon's knots. Honestly though, this really does have great flavor and durability and is really really long. Just like in the olden days. Give it a tie!

Don't buy this if you're looking for long strands of licorice for decoration or crafting. I bought this because I had seen the "Gustaf's" brand recommended and this seemed to be a repackaging of that, in a smaller volume. Since I didn't need much I bought this instead of the original. That was a mistake! Whoever did the repackaging didn't care about keeping the strands intact; the bag was full of short pieces just a few inches long, with only a few over a foot long. I don't think any of them were the original full length. The licorice tastes fine. But I could just go to the grocery store for licorice that tastes fine.

Very infrequently, we purchased this specific black licorice. Previously, we really liked it however, this purchase was dry and less flavorful - OLD! The "laces" were broken in the package and almost hard. I may not purchase this brand again.

The licorice is very good, but to expensive. I wish I could afford it.

Larger size . Black licorice, not much flavor. The "shoestrings" are short broken pieces. Texture not what I am used to. Flavor. Not real tasty. Won't buy this again. Way overpriced . Thought it was a 2 lb bag but is only 1 lb.
