Charcoal does its job keeps aquarium water crystal clear either use bag that comes with it or purchase extra fine bags I used my fine media bags and charcoal was coming out now that issue solved will definitely purchase again.

Well packaged, quick delivery. Packaging had no leakage of carbon at all. Very sturdy and full container.

I am using it to filter drinking water. The charcoal and polyester filter floss is packed tightly so the water, at 40 psi supply pressure, is forced through it. With other charcoal products, after replacing the media, and even after washing the new charcoal, I have had to run a lot of water through my filter until I stopped seeing black specks in the filtered water. With this product, even though it is finely ground, and without any pre-washing, I didn't see any black specks. Of course, out of caution, I ran a few gallons through before drinking. It tastes fine. I recall that this product is also sold in a 3 pound jar. The reviews seem to be separate. Amazon should merge them. Readers should look at both.

See Photo - After nearly two weeks "On-The-Job" in a Twenty Gallon Freshwater Tank this Carbon is "Rockin-It. As I expressed in Part One, my Wife has the Nose of a Bloodhound. I will use this Carbon in my New 75 Gallon Reef Tank (The 20-Gallon is somewhat of a Guinea Pig) - The Carbon is very, very Fine in Granule Size - Even Finer than a lot of Sand - The Mesh Bag that comes with it is of no use to me as it is small but that is not to say it won't be useful to others. You will NEED a Very Fine Mesh Bag though to hold the Carbon 'Sand' - Thus far, this stuff is AMAZING.

It's to fine in course media, which for best results placed in-the-sump use. It works well, but this type of carbon exhausts quickly. I prefer larger diameter carbon for longer results (I have a 92 Boew front reef tank).
