These have a flavorful, tangy not too sweet flavor for adding to hot and cold cereals. Keep in mind that they are much chewier in cold cereals.

As others have noted, these may be near the level of cranberries in terms of tartness, but are slightly sweeter. Eating them straight from the bag may be a bit intense, but if you mix them in warm oatmeal, possibly with other fruit, they taste great. These are my favorite dried fruit, at the same level of dried kiwi (no sugar added).

So these are very acidy! You can taste it when you eat them. It was something I was not expecting in a berry. So I bought these to get more potassium in my limited diet. I had a much older bag of these I had found in my apartment that I had forgotten about. It said on the older bag that a serving provided 20 % of the daily potassium needs. But on these new bags the serving only provides 15 % of the daily potassium needs! Yet the serving size has slightly increased. So why did the potassium amount go down??? There is no explanation. I am not happy about that at all. These are not a good thing to try + eat daily for potassium. Too acidy. They dont taste bad mind you but they can cause some mild heartburn from the fact they contain a lot of acid.

If you'd like to perk up your oatmeal, throw a handful of these in when it's about done cooking. Great flavor bombs. I add them in with a variety of dried and fresh fruit. Kind of like a natural lemonhead. Add these to trail mix -- boring no more! And they've got to be amazingly healthy.

I popped a few in my mouth to find a bunch of wrinkly, flavorless, gobs. When I bit into them they were definitely puckery. I grow fresh poha berries in my shadehouse in Hawai'i and wanted a test model to see if I may want to dehydrate some. Now I definitely want to. I make everything terrible somehow taste good. And I like a challenge.
