Chai becomes flavorful and has a superb taste of elachi

To premise, I drink tea as my profession. Tea was brewed to parameters on the box - One 2gram tea bag in 6oz/180ml of 195F filtered water. Note, and like any tea bags, tea cups are small and not monster 8 to 12oz mugs that are more common for western drinkers. Use an additional tea bag for a mug. Chai Adda from Luxmi Estates is an organic CTC black with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, black pepper, and saffron. It steeps up a gorgeous amber-red from the saffron. The tea profile is light - the CTC black used here is good quality with low astringency and bitterness, making for a sweet brew on its own. I let it steep longer than one should and it got a little astringent, but drinkable. The spices are distinctly chai and moderate heat, thanks to the bite of the black pepper, but overall an even blend buzzing with cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger, with a slight floral note from either the saffron or black tea base. I personally can drink this tea without sugar and milk, it doesn't need it the brew isn't bitter. It is light for making milk tea, but you can add more teabags and make it work. I would dock a point for the tea bags and packaging. The tea is packaged in a foil pouch with no reseal, so you need a bag clip in order to preserve freshness. Teabags are just triangle "silk plastic" bags, I would prefer noting what they are and if they are biodegradable. However, I am not docking a point as the tea went above and beyond being of good quality for this price point, compared to other tea bags and even loose leaf teas. CTC black tea can be very harsh, bitter, and brisk and Chai Adda from Luxmi Estates is not.

So I am a Chai fanatic. I've been drinking this stuff for over 20 years and I have now found my favorite. I don't care for most store brands, and the ones they serve at Starbucks lack flavor and spice. Twinning brand has been the only Chai I have found at the store that has all the spices I enjoy. I was so excited when I found this, and even more excited when I read some of the reviews. This Chai is awesome. The teabags are pyramid shaped and unlike Twinning brand, include whole pieces of spices. The smell is fresher and more pungent as well. Once I brewed my first cup I knew I was in love. Tastes so lively, like a good gingerbread. A nice back spice after swallowing. It tingles in the chest and feels wonderful. Not spicy, just a warmth. I made a latte with oat milk and brown sugar, it was the best ive ever tasted. The other 2 people in my household asked what the wonderful smell was, so I let them try it. They both immediately asked if they could have a cup. Now they are hooked, and I'm gonna have to share with them. Noooooo, I want it all for me, it's that good!!!!!! The price is a little high, but it's totally worth it. I am now a customer for life. Yum!!!!!!

The black tea is a bit more on the bitter end. Steeping it for about 3 minutes, don't get a whole lot of flavor. Steeping it for about 5, you get more of the black tea and slightly more of the spices. The spices are still present but more muted than I prefer. Would recommend this as a milk and sugar type chai as opposed to drinking it by itself.
