I found a missing piece and 2 that went no way place. Any recourse?

Late reply but Buffalo games do have a missing piece guarantee, if the puzzle was produced in the last 4 years. Contact them.

What location is this picture?

It is Manarola, Italy. It's a small village in the group of villages known as the Cinque Terre (translation: 5 lands). There is a walking path that connects all 5 of the villages, known as the Via dell'Amore (The Way of Love). It's on the coast in the north on the Ligurian Sea. It's south of Genoa (known as Genova in Italy).

Several comments regarding poor quality, has the Manufacrurer been notified and have they resolved the issue or removed affected sets from sale?

The puzzle I received was of excellent quality. So, either I was just lucky, or they have fixed whatever the problems were.
