I'm 5' tall. If the telescoping wand extends 3', how does the vacuum have an 11' reach?

The vacuum has an 11' extension not you; measuring from the back of the vacuum to the end of the hose gives a length of 96". The extended wand ~36". combined a total of 122" (11')
