"What Should Danny Do?" has quickly become a favorite in our house, and I cannot recommend it enough! It is the perfect blend of engaging storytelling and valuable life lessons. The book is written in a "choose-your-own-adventure" style, allowing my kids to make decisions for Danny and see the direct consequences of his actions. This interactive approach keeps them fully engaged from start to finish. The story revolves around Danny, a "Superhero-in-Training," who faces daily choices. The best part is that it shows how positive choices lead to a better day, while negative ones have natural, non-preachy consequences. It has been such an effective tool for teaching empathy, responsibility, and the "power to choose." My kids absolutely love flipping to the different pages to see what happens next, and it has actually helped them think about their own behavior in real-life situations. The illustrations are vibrant, and the writing is relatable for young children (aged 3-8). If you want a book that is fun, interactive, and teaches character, this is it! We will definitely be buying the rest of the series.

I love these books. I have a full of character 6 year old boy and this is our second of the What Should Danny Do books. He absolutely loves them and enjoys reading the good and bad choices and navigating us around the book as its not a simple timeline and I think this adds to the attraction for him. It doesn't escape me that its very simplistic and dare I say contrived, nonetheless I find it helpful in spelling out positive behaviours and the consequences of less positive behaviours in different and very relatable scenarios. Particularly as he can get overexcited and forget sometimes. Its an American book but its easy to change soccer to football and Mom to Mum etc. As he gets older he'll have plenty of opportunites to learn that life is more nuanced but in the meantime this has been helpful.
