Can i use this product on my faberware percolator? i always used dip-it but now dip-it is discontinued.

Yes. It won't damage it. Just pour in a packet, let it soak for most of the day and rinse with cold water several times. It will come our sparkly clean! I've been using it about 4 years.

I'm a bit confused. do i need both this and the descaler? why?

Descaling removes lime deposits left by water after its heated, the other removes oils and other organic deposits left after coffeemaking.
