Perfect Package for Heretic (or 80s Metal) fans
First let me say that of course I am a big Heretic fan so this package was very appealing. To have some video of the band back in the day is amazing. The two cds alone are a must for any 80s heavy metal fan. The history of the band and connection to Metal Church is quite a story. The first CD is the “Torture Knows No Boundary” EP remastered with the original 5 songs plus 9 additional bonus tracks. Bonus tracks include live versions, Metal Massacre versions, and remakes. The live tracks have poor sound quality but its low production 80s metal. Excellent CD with great booklet. The second CD is the “Breaking Point” CD. Also remastered with bonus tracks. The live tracks are from the EP but the singer is Mike Howe. Pretty cool. Similar to the first CD the live tracks have poor sound quality. The 11th track called “Impulse” from the re-issue of “Breaking Point” is a good song. Another good booklet but less pictures of the bandThe third disc is a DVD containing four different videos:1. 1985 concert from the “Country Club” which includes 11 songs. This is the best of the three videos and the quality (both sound and video) is actually pretty good and it’s very cool to see the band live. Mike Torres is singing.2. 1986 concert from “Jezebels” which includes 10 songs. This is a closer video with some shots taken from the side of the stage. Mike Howe is singing. Very cool.3. Heretic and Will Howe watching the above two videos. Didn’t like this video very much but I guess its neat to see Brian Korban and Julian Mendez. 1 hour and 30 mins is too long.4. Let Em Bleed Video clip: Good song and sound quality but no footage of the band which is a miss. This set is a must buy for Heretic fans and excellent introduction for those who do not know who Heretic is.

great release here for 80s thrash/power metal fans
great release here for 80s thrash/power metal fans. Happy to be able to have this-just wish audio could have been sweetened up a bit better. But one is limited by how the original source master tapes have been stored over the past 30 years-and the original recordings were likely not recorded with a huge budget meaning corners were cut due to limits on the recording fund budget. Oh well-it is great to be able to hear these songs again!!! I would recommend this for those who are serious collectors and fans of the genre from that time period=mid 80s thrash metal. I think they are more power metal than thrash but really its metal so that's what is important!

If you're going to do something, do it right.
I gave this an OK review only due to the record label for putting this out. Overall, it's a cool package of all of their stuff including some bonus tracks and live footage. First I will list off the few good things about it. Nice effort to bring it all back and remaster everything. Breaking Point was done very well. It sounds perfect. The packaging is really good overall as well. Now, the problem I have with this set is the Torture Knows no Boundary ep. I have been waiting for a remastered copy of this for a long time because all I have is a recording from my LP processed through special software called Magix. My copy I made sounds hands down way better than the Metal Blade "remaster." The copy you get here sounds EXACTLY like they took an old tape, hisses and all, and put it to disc. It's extremely disappointing and atrocious. Why put out this killer set and short change your customers of 30+ years with this crap? It's terrible and I even sent an email to them and it went unanswered. If you're getting this set for that then you will be greatly disappointed. If you want a good copy then you can just email me and I'll send you one. Metal Blade, you should be ashamed. Heretic deserves much better than this. Tsk tsk.
