Q: What size are the shirts compared to adult's shirts? Im a medium in men's. Should I get large?

True to size for boys. I bought for 8 year old.

Q: What size is considere boys x-large

I would say a size 16 to 18. I bought them for myself. I wear a ladies small. The shirts fit me comfortably, are soft cotton, and easy to move in.

Q: What size will fit a 12 year old

I didn't buy for a 12 yr old but I would suggest size Large (10-12) if he/she is average size. If a husky size, then XL (14-16) will probably fit better and have some room for growth.
