Best. Swim Pants. On. Amazon.
I tried on 28 different kinds of swim leggings from Amazon, and this was on of them.Private Island makes the best swim leggings on Amazon. No joke. I tried on two different styles: Full Length and Capri.I love the way these fit me. I love the fabric, the quality, and the price. They are not baggy in the knees like all the other full length leggings I tried on. They give support, which is SO important for a plus sized girl like me (I wear 1x-2x, or 18-20). There's no jiggle and no lumpiness. They are comfortable. The holy grail of swim leggings. If there is one con, it would be that the waist on these leggings is slightly tighter than most of the other brands.Ranking of Swim Legging Brands, from Best to Worst1. Excellent!
I'm in my 40's, mother of a teenager, and I have lots of disfigurement from the waist down, so I never feel good in "traditional" swimwear. It's always crawling into places where it doesn't belong or it never covers enough. These, though a bit long, are just perfect! Covers everything, holds in what likes to move of its own accord (lol), and suitable to put a beach dress over and head to the mini mart across the street because they look like regular leggings otherwise. Quite comfortable, no pinching, strong seams. I'm absolutely looking forward to spending a day in the surf in these!

Super small
My daughter is big for her age. She is 8 but is more like a 12 yr old in size. I am 5'10', hubby is 6'7"She is 4'11" and around 100 lbs. She wears a "big kid" 14 or small adult. These are SUPER TINY. I would put these at a "big kid" small to medium and a 00 for women's size.I will reorder at least 2 sizes up.The fabric is thick without being bulky. They would be perfect for swimming, snorkeling, etc in the direct hot sun and you would not need to put sunscreen on your legs. We just got back from Maui and live on the coast in CA (PCH all the way!!) and I love not having to worry about more than sunscreen on the face. I scoured Maui stores to find another pair while there. Got at least a half dozen times "we used to have those but they sold out quick and we didn't get them back in again." Uhhh?!?! If something is popular, why not carry more of it? With all the fish dying due to sunscreen, they should encourage people wearing protective clothing. Buy here because finding them on vacay is not so easy. I digress...These leggings are perfect with a long sleeve rash guard top. We snorkeled, swam and hung out in the sun for hours and didn't get burned. The fabric feels light on the skin, so I did not mind being covered up nor does it feel hot to wear as opposed to a typical suit.Highly recommend in an appropriate size and hope this info helps

Pants look good and work fine for sun protection. Thick fabric makes them very hard to dry.
I used these twice for snorkeling in Hawaii in late April and early May. They provided excellent sun protection for 2-3 hours in each case. The problem is that the fabric is so thick that the pants are very difficult to dry in a humid environment. They remained soggy during a 30-minute walk from the beach to our condo, while my husband's Speedo rash guard had dried entirely in that time.I hand-washed them, squeezed them as dry as possible, then rolled them in a towel to get more water out, and spread them over a drying rack. Despite placing the rack in an air-conditioned room under a ceiling fan set at high, and next to a powerful floor fan, I found that the pants were still damp after 14 hours. They (and I) smelled mildewy throughout the next day's activities. The same was true of the other 3 Private Island items I purchased. I'm beyond the return window, so I'm stuck with the items, but won't be buying anything else from this brand.

Nice
I am returning these because I found a pair on sale at Coolibar that is cheaper. (Coolibar is usually so expensive - that it's hard to believe, but it's true). I am a curvy size 14 & ordered the XXL - and they are just a little too big. They look small out of the package, but have tons of stretch. There are perfectly acceptable, and if I end up actually swimming more frequently - I will come back to buy these in an XL. The quality seems good, fit is good, although I have long legs (5'8") and these were just barely long enough. I usually find the "amazon" fit chart to be off on certain brands of clothing (especially Asian made) - but for this company, I would say the amazon chart is pretty accurate.
