The police indicated that a hydraulic shear tore through the lock and that was how my bike was stolen. I initially liked this product very much, but considering how easy it was for the criminals to crush this security measure, I will never trust this product again.

I got this lock for my electric pedal assist Radcity commuter bike. There isn’t a lot of free space on an electric bike but this lock is compact enough to fit under the seat. It’s coated in rubber which helps protect the paint in the bike. For the price it is great.

The mounting bracket is a death-trap, particularly if mounted on the seat-post. The plastic is way too flimsy to handle the heavy lock. It seems secure because the lock literally locks into it. However it is locking into flimsy plastic that stretches, bends and eventually tears with the motion of the lock in it . After only two weeks of use the heavy lock tore right through the flimsy plastic that it was locked into, falling into the rear wheel, and leaving me face down on the pavement. Luckily I wasn't in or near car traffic or I might be dead. I have to wonder what kind of testing they did on the product before releasing it.

this lock was exactly what I needed to secure my bike when I go to the grocery store, stop for lunch on ride, etc. it may not be sufficient for locking a bike every day, all day in the same location. the metal is vinyl coated, so it looks and feels good. Of course, you then can't see if there are any weaknesses in the material, but neither can a would-be thief. the key mechanism works very smoothly, the mounting bracket is well-designed, and it comes with 3 keys (so you can lose two before you panic). it has a covered cable lock too. the only negative is that the "U" is rather short, meaning that can't lock the frame and back tire together to a rack unless you use the cable. Overall, outstanding for the price.

It worked well for me for a few months, but when someone knew what they were doing it took him less than a minute to jiggle the lock open and ride off on my bike. If you value you bike like I did, splurge on a nice Kryptonite lock.

I am extremely happy with this lock!! It’s very sturdy, the key doesn’t feel like it might break off in the hole like others have, and it’s coated in a smooth rubber that is “soft” so it doesn’t scratch the paint on the bikes. The only down side is you really don’t realize how short 4 feet really is until you try to do much with the cable. I didn’t really think it through, probably should have opted for longer cord. It is very well made and sturdy, and the plastic coating on the cable also doesn’t scratch the paint on the bikes. It’s also a bonus (to me anyways) that it doesn’t hold the spiral curl, so it’s easy to work with, but not as easy to store. It does come with a little velcro strap which is sufficient enough though.

I read the reviews that said the lock is smaller than expected. I bought it anyway. By itself, the U-lock seems sturdy, but it’s too small for my bikes. I can’t trust the cable that came with it. Bike thieves are ruthless in my city. Sorry I bought it. Glad I didn’t buy 2.

The u bolt is fat and made of solid metal, but the receiving lock is light and thin in places, not very solid. The attachment for your bike is also awkward and impractical, because it does not form a straight line and is wider than your bike frame. Also, unless your bike frame is very thin, he only place you can attach this lock when not in use is under your bike seat.

Very strong lock, much thicker than some others available and I daresay impossible to cut through. The lock isn't quite big enough to fit around the front wheel and frame, so I use the included cable for the front wheel which is a bit awkward to carry around and not quite long enough to reach the back wheel too. Minor niggles aside its a good quality lock that does what it says.

these locks are smaller than i thought they would be but they seem very heavyweight and the silicone covering is nice. The cable is also shorter than I thought. Fits my small bike well (able to loop both wheels) but I will reiterate my bike is very small and the cable just barely fits around both tires. Seems like it will do the job well though.

Quite easy to use and also fastens quickly to your bike when riding if you use the lock holder. Do note that the lock won’t sit completely flush with your frame and it will be offset due to the holder having a 90 degree turn. This hasn’t bugged me too much but occasionally my foot will make contact with the lock when pedalling.
