I took a huge risk wearing these to Spain, to Málaga specifically, and if you've ever been, you know about the ancient castle and massive fort build on the side and top of a mountain. Tourists have to walk up an ascension the likes of which would make a hiker duly impressed. At 58, I walked up over 15 degree inclined for nearly one hour in these shoes. On average, according to my step counter, we walked 30,000 steps per day in Málaga. How'd they do? Perfectly! The leather is tough but supple. I did coat them in Salty Fish before a week before I left to condition them. I recommend it for leather.They feel great but, they are leather. Leather is what leather is but, these performed better than I hoped. They clean well, as I also walked to Ciudad Jardín for the Botanical Garden which, guess what? Is on the side of an entire mountain! So, here we went again. I just checked for wear and tear on the sole. None that I can see. After miles and miles and miles of walking in rocky desert conditions, the soles look new. I had to catch my husband a time or two because he wore sandals and slipped. I didn't slip at all.

Fit as sized so much better than the walking/running shoes I have tried worn all day today no discomfort, and my arch supports fit. Well made product. To early to tell long term durability
