Don King: Only In America

Good quality DVD..what I expected

I can watch (and I try) this movie everyday. If you are in the game of promotions its a must have especially if you are a minority or Jewish. It shows what real hustle is all about. Sure many people have a lot of negative opinions of the King but check most people don't really know his story. At the end of the day what i came away with this movie is that you have to fight for what you want it will not be handed out freely. When you have to compete with people with more money and education amongst other things they not playing fair and when you play by their rules you are the bad guy. Don King just mastered the game the created and he beat them at it by any means necessary and i for one am not mad at him. If he had not been to aggressive we would know about Don King because they would not have cut him in. The man is no saint but he ain't the devil either he is human. This movie shows the affects of what hard work and success does to a human being- It can make you hard. I loved this movie the casting is great!!! SUPERB. Darius and Ving did a hell of a job!! so did Bernie Mac... I actually thought Darius was more believable then Will Smith ( will was not bad just that Darius captured Ali better). Great cast, great music Banging Movie.

There is no other...Don king is one of a kind...and this movie is one the best movies HBO ever made....I mean this movie puts in the passenger seat and takes you for an uncut uncensored ride thru one of the greatest boxing promoters of all time...some may say different...but you have too give Don King his credit...I have mad respect & love for Don King because he played the game the best way he knew how...we have a saying in the hood..." the game is too be sold,not told" yeah and Don king sold the game of boxing....that's why I say he is a true player of the game...good or bad...it doesn't matter he played the game too win without regret!

I really enjoyed watching this movie on dvd because the commentaries help add that other dimension to the classic film. The fact that this movie won so many awards should let you know how much the critics as well as the viewers enjoyed this film. I can't believe how well acted, produced, and directed this movie was and it was a "made for TV" film! So all I can suggest to anyone thinking about buying is this DON'T WAIT get it now before it's too late.

This movie is much better than most box office movies and movies nominated for awards. Ving Rhames was excellent. I don't know whether I like this role or his role in Pulp Fiction better. There are several classic lines in this movie, some of which I can't repeat in this review. My favorite line is, "There have been many Champions to enter the ring, but only one King." Buy this movie now. It is loaded with stars and excellent acting.

Well made movie with amazing performance from Ving Rhames of one of the controversial and exciting promoters in boxing! Ving Rhames should get Oscar for this movie, great actor and superbly directed as well as scripted movie, one of my favorites!
