I'm a believer now!
I've been using a premium CLP that's supposed to be great on carbon. I've also been using a brass tornado brush. My barrel looked shiny clean. NOPE.C4 immediately broke down the carbon I couldn't see. It looks and flows like water. This is best used at the sink. I let it soak and followed up with a nylon brush and the black just came out all over the bottom of the sink. After the 2nd patch ran through clean I took advantage of the sink. I used Dawn on the brush and washed the inside and outside of the barrel. Boy is it nice.C4 seems to leave behind a left over dried soap feeling. The wash down in the sink got rid of that feeling. I think this takes everything off down to the metal. Oil/CLP is a must to complete the job.I can't believe how easy this was!

Great on blued finish
My S&W Model 19 Classic .357 revolver w/ blued finish will get carbon deposits on the cylinder crane and gap expels a bit of fouling during a plinking session. This product took it off with a little scrubbing using a nylon brush. Let it soak for a few minutes before going to town and it will look fantastic when you're done. Also works great inside the barrel and on the forcing cone if left to soak a little before using a copper brush. Excellent product that won't damage your gun's beautiful finish.

Great stuff.
Great for removing carbon ring on my .22LR

It works.
It works. I always thought that decades-old formulas still used today have to be better than one of these, specifically made for each fouling element (copper, carbon, lead). Well, firstly I started to use Bore Tech copper remover and I was really, really satisfied with the results. Even though I was satisfied with the carbon-removing ability of my old and proven stuff, I wanted to give C4 a try to see if it does anything better than my old carbon solutions. Once I thought my rifle was clean and free from carbon, I used C4 as instructed. I couldn't believe how much carbon I was getting out... I cleaned at least 4 times before the patches were finally coming out clean.I had another carbon removal product that I used after C4, and no matter how long I left it soaked or scrubbed, there was no carbon deposit left in my barrel.I will not use anything else for cleaning carbon out of my rifle barrels. The odor is almost non-existent too, which helps with my wife not complaining no matter where I clean them.,

Good, but expensive
Does it remove carbon effectively? It does. Better than other brands I've tried? Yes. I'm happy with the results, but I'm not really happy with the price. If you have tough carbon to remove it's worth a try, but don't expect miracles.

You get what you pay for.
You can pay less for a bore cleaner but you're also going to get something that doesn't work as well. I've always used Hoppes and had to clean multiple passes/swabs before getting a clean swab. This stuff works well and quickly. So far, I haven't noticed any residue.
