Amazingly Awesome!
This was an essential book for me. I have waited years to read another book by Ms. Mulry because I had read her amazing royal series and was, frankly, pouting. I wanted more from that series and I still feel that it really was left unfinished with the sister who lived in the Northern part of the country. I digress. OK so when I went back into the Ms. Mulry vault I was intrigued by this book and kept coming back to it. I am thrilled that I took a chance as this book was amazing. Yes parts of it were already known by having read the description. What knocked my socks off were the twists and turns that were seamlessly woven throughout the book. I would normally have expected something but the little tidbits or flat out shocking moments just kept coming. I was actually sad when this book ended. I really wanted it to continue and I would have liked a longer epilogue into the future of this amazing couple and crew. Amazing work Ms. Mulry...I'm back! denise bailey

Excellent Read
How did I miss this book for so long? I love this author's contemporary work - great romantic comedy. Light, fun, British. :) This book, however, captured me from the beginning. The characters are so very well drawn - even the secondary ones. This is not your standard three act romance. Not a quick read - so many layers to work through.Luke is charming, beautiful and complicated. Ellie is a sad optimist. Each are people who have seen too much pain yet are still standing. So many things just click together, then fall apart, then click back together.Such a great story - sweet love story, a little Homeland, a little Night Manager and a great cast of characters. Please write more, Megan.

Hope and Longing- could not put down!
Those two themes, along with survival, resound throughout this lovely tale. Once I started I couldn't stop. In fact, this author's books tend to keep me up far too late into the night.Ellie is a woman I'd like to be, the wise optimist who's seen plenty of life and is trying to regain a part of her that's been missing. Enter Luke, who's handsome, gorgeous, and ever so patient. This love story is like a slow roast, gradually cooking and absorbing emotion until I was bursting at the seams. For every rushed moment there's an equal temper. Mulry woos with her words- descriptions of food, art, and emotion fold and blend creating a world I want to dive into.I pray this author will continue to write contemporary in the future. Think of her as the contemporary version of Laura Kinsale. It's not a simple story, but a journey and I'll be jumping on the Ellie and Luke boat again!

I love Megan Mulry's writing and find her characters to be ...
I love Megan Mulry's writing and find her characters to be fascinating and her descriptions of falling in love beautiful and accurate. However, I had some trouble with this book because I found it a the suspense part of the plot a little heavy handed and hard to believe.

This was a book that I felt the connection of the main characters.
I am a big Megan Mulry fan. Encore was well written and the characters were grown ups. Luke and Ellie had more than a relationship. The reader feels their strong human connection that is only reinforced by their dialogue.
