The bad reviews of these seem to be about the metal screws that are included. I would agree that the screws are flimsy garbage, but the fixings themselves are great! Do what I did: throw the screws in the recycling bin and use heavier-duty screws with a slightly thicker gauge. You'll have no problems at all after that - these fixings hold incredibly tight. The ends need to be countersunk slightly, but you're already drilling a hole, so that's no problem.

I am a mechanical engineer by profession so tend to research a product drilling down into the quality of the item before I buy. I am in the process of renovating a bathroom at the moment and I needed some decent plugs to mount a 3x2 to the ceiling in order to make a false wall for a shower cubicle. There are no rafters in the right place and I couldn't be bothered with ripping up the floor in the attic to put some noggins in place. It was just the one span and the rest of the box being screwed to two walls. I decided to also glue the span with hybrid adhesive to provide belt and braces. Honestly, I didn't need to as the cavity plugs are so good and am very pleased with them both on quality and price. I recommend them.

We have a new-build home and these are great for heavy items on plasterboard walls. We used them on two wall mounted TVs, three heavy mirrors and shelving

I'm kinda mixed review , that are keeping the shelves on the wall but just about but I've found that with all of this type of plug. I miss concrete walls

I really would like to get my money back because this screw is made of very low quality metal and the cap broke after being screwed into the ceiling. I can’t now even remove from the drywall because “the butterfly” is already opened inside.
