Stop looking at other pants and put your money down on these pants. I am a 7 year veteran of the Army, with my recent deployment a little over a year ago. I have tested many brands of pants, combed the web and tactical shops of my city, and found what works and what doesn't. These pants work. Period. The feel is as light as feather, yet the seams and pockets feel strong. The sizing is perfect, stylish, but most of all functional. They also don't appear overly douchey. The pockets stay flush to the body and the fabric doesn't dig into the skin at all. Everything about these pants is well designed and you will continually find small features that show a high level of engineering. The pants are superb for anyone who is mobile, active, and needs clothing that is functional.I have never been so pleased with a product from Amazon. These pants are pricey but they are worth every bit of it. I am going to slowly put another two pairs in my wardrobe and will probably make these my mainstay of wear.So stop reading and buy. Ask me any questions you need.

Maybe the best designed tactical pant out there.
I have owned these pants for two weeks and have worn them every day. I conduct security work in the Middle East and find these pants almost perfect for this kind of work.PROs:-The material is great, stretchy, durable, breathable.-Articulated knees are in the right spot and function as designed.-The recent run of hipster low-rise waistlines are comfortable but inappropriate for use with a gunbelt. These are not grandpa pants up to the belly button, but not hip huggers either. These are just right, perfect for all-day wear of a gunbelt without yanking the pant legs up past your ankles.-The knife or pen pocket in the back are perfect. This might be the very best location for such a pocket. I forget I am wearing it.-The remaining pockets are all in the right places. The height of the cargo pocket and the retention loops inside work perfectly as designed.-The cargo zippers work perfectly one-handed. I am amazed at how well these zippers work.CONs:-The cargo pockets are a tad small. They could extend down the leg a bit farther and make room enough to fit the length of an AR magazine.-These need a button at the waist. The hook and loop patch is helpful, but a button would be better. And two is one in this case.-The belt loops are awesome, but dont support a belt larger than 1.5 inches. I should go all the way to 1.75.

JUST BUY THE DAMN THINGS ALREADY!
i read all the reviews too. I was worried about the "skinny leg" comment and the "won't fit over boots" comment because my husband is not a small guy and lets face it, work boots of all shapes are a pretty important part of our life. He is a farmer and truck driver and dirty jobs seem to find him. Whether it is crawling under a piece of equipment in the mud to fix it or unloading a semi of sawdust bedding, he seldom comes in clean. BUT I ordered these and from the first day he loved them. I ordered mud brown and with the teflon coating, the dirt and sawdust just brush off. The pants fit perfectly, the pockets are easy to get into with enough room for cell phone, knives, flashlights, wrenches and who doesn't just carry random machine parts around. Every day (except Sunday) these are the pair of pants he puts on. EVERY DAMN DAY. I sneak them into the washer when he tumbles into bed and they are ready when he gets up at 4am. Needless to say he has 4 more pair on the way. They wear well. They wash well. They fit great and are so comfortable it is like having nothing on - so he says anyway. Just buy them already!

Great pant, but, hot in summer time. Pricy
Thought I'd try the stretchy version of the UTP pant that I like so well. These are almost the same as the UTP pant but are made out of different material. Look to be very well made and are VERY comfortable ,,,,however, I have other pieces of clothing made out of this stretchy stuff and I've found that it does not breath very well. I live in a desert and can not wear these in the summer time. Just too hot. Fine in fall or hiking in mountains. l love the cut and fit of these style pant. The Velcro fastening at belt line is brilliant, very comfy. I am slowly replacing all my pants with Helikon-Tex products, that how much I like them. These are a bit pricy, but I think worth it, even if just for half the year. The cargo pockets in these, have straps to hold the content upright and stationary, nice touch.

Side pockets don’t have the elastic bands inside anymore to hold tools
This is the third pair, I really like them. I noticed something different with the last pair I got and it was that for some reason the side pockets doesn’t have the elastic bands inside the pocket to hold tools or other items in place. I’m a Controls technician and I love this pants because they’re so comfortable and they’re practical to carry hand tools and flashlights and stuff like that. The elastic band were helpful to keep those tools in place and be able to move without having the tools in the way pocking my legs when I Bend down or claim a ladder. The water proof is good when they are new. After few washes (following the manufacture recommendations) the waterproof is not longer there, allowing fluids get in the fabric.(Pants are 6 months old when toke pictures)

Quickly becoming my favorite everyday pants!
So, right off the bat let me start off by saying that I'm a "husky" boy. :) I've been losing some weight, but I'm gonna need some help getting rid of the ol' spare tire! So, more recently I've been wearing a 44 in relax fit chinos and jeans, but a 46 in dress pants. I took a chance on these size 42 pants because of the expandable waist and I'm glad I did! I love these pants and throw them in for running errands and casual hikes. They are extremely flexible. As others have mentioned, they are prone to making "swoosh swoosh" sounds as I walk ( or maybe that's,just me...lol). And, let's face it, they're not cheap. That said, until I lose some more weight ( or until REI makes something similar in 44) I will continue to use these pants for a wide range of activities...swoosh swoosh be darned!

No knee pad pocket
Unlike the UTP cotton ripstop from helikon the OTP is stretchier and lighter, however, it is less durable (repairable) and offers no wind shielding. Although the listing stated Knee reinforcements with place for soft pads, they don't have it. Sure these trousers are very comfortable but for the price it feels like you are getting less, especially when UTP ripstop is cheaper.

Nice shapely fit.
Really nice fit, stretches well for any vigorous activities or simply long dog walks. Not baggy looking like some combats, contoured cut makes me look more athletic than I actually am! Also purchased the UTP trouser, this has the same jeans type fit without the swish swish sound of these outdoor pants. For that reason I rate this 4 star and the UTP 5 stars, it's very close and depends on how much the stretchiness is of importance.Great service from Military 1st, will buy again from this seller.

Great Trousers, Great Brand
Love the Helikon brand. Have bought several pairs of shorts and now long pants. Well made, good fit, very strong material, lots of useful pockets and very forgiving for a travelling waistline with the velcro fastener.Would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting work trousers or just casual wear. Got sick of wearing jeans all the time and these are way more comfortable

Satisfied
Very good overall quality and fit. Pockets conveniently placed. I bought it to go hiking so this doesn't affect me but if you want to go play airsoft or paintball in it, keep in mind that it is the kind of material that makes a bit of noise if you move. Nothing serious but can be a disadvantage if you need to go sneaky. Otherwise the material is pretty comfy, doesn't irritate the skin like some other similar trousers do.

Perfect for those tactical situations at college. Many many pens.
Great pants, flexible, stretchy and adaptable. Not quite sure why or if they coated the things with Teflon. Can’t tell if it survived contact with the washing machine, I guess it’s a “waterproof once” kinda deal
