Clean your Rem 700 Bolt
What a fantastic little tool! So many people are unable to clean the bolt and firing pin assembly on their Rem 700 rifle thinking that because they're not a gunsmith the task is beyond them. I'm not a 'smith either, but this amazing little tool sure makes disassembling the bolt soooo easy. It takes literally less than a minute to remove the bolt shroud and firing pin assembly from the bolt housing. With this little device (and nothing else required) i can disassemble the bolts on my Rem 700 rifles (well, actually i have already!!!).The tool is made of sufficiently strong metal (not sure if it's aluminum or steel) and is easy to use. A little search on the internet will provide adequate instruction (videos, etc) to show you how to use this tool.I did buy an additional tool to disassemble the firing pin assembly, but it was bought elsewhere (Sinclair brand - was approx. $33).

Perfect tool for the Remington Model 700 mechanic.
Model 700 tool you cannot live without if you want to keep your rifle running safely. You would be surprised at how much gunk can get stuffed through that tiny firing pin hole in the bolt face. This little tool makes it quick and painless task to take the bolt apart to swab out the inside. One rifle brought to me (only 2 years old) had enough gunk, sticks, and congealed glop inside the bolt that every 3rd or 4th cycling of the bolt would cause either a slam fire when closing the bolt, or a hang fire when the firing pin finally broke loose seconds later after the trigger was pressed. Take it apart and clean out the chicken bones and gravel with brake cleaner or any other favored spray type gun cleaner, and it's good for another year. Make sure you use a good lubricant when reassembling the bolt. A thin coating of low viscosity gun grease on sliding/moving parts is all you need.

Works as intended with no issues
Not as well made as some other bolt disassembly tools I have used. For the amount of times I actually need to disassemble the bolt in a life time this tool will work fine with no issues. If I was a professional gunsmith I would look to the more refined tool. Being an hobby shooter and I only own one firearm that needs this tool makes this a good value IMHO. Operation of the tool is simple with no damage to the bolt.

Great tool
I dont know what to really say about a simple tool that works, its not complicated, a few complaints of no directions... if you don't know how to use this tool....your probably taking your rifle down further than you should anyway. Not being mean, go to YouTube before writing a bad review, or just go to a gunsmith.

Worth every cent and perfect for the job.
I tried to install a David Tubbs firing pin, spring and shroud assembly on my Remington Classic 8x57 without this tool. Mistake. Nice I got this excellent quality precision tool I had the old J-bolt out and the new assembly in in a few minutes. Now I will be more faithful in maintaining my Remington. My dad was a master auto mechanic and he preached "you can't do good work without the right tools." He was right.

Does what it's supposed to do, but I'd like it more if it toggled instead of having to hold it when you back the cap off of the bolt.If you buy it you'll see...

GREAT TOOL
I wished this tool had been available years ago.The difficulty of servicing the bolt has been eliminated. No more coins in a bench vice.Manufactured with steel and aluminum, this tool works slick.Remove the bolt ,push catch into the bolt notch, squeeze the lever till it locks into place, unscrew firing pin.Couldn’t be easier.
