I've used a lot of helmets over the years. This is by far my favorite. Mig welded some tricky small tubing over the weekend and used this helmet for 3-4 hours. Worked great. The ability to see color instead of shades of green is something you don't appreciate until you use it. The side viewing ports are something i like as it gives you peripheral vision, which I think is a good safety feature. Knob at your left temple makes adjustment of the shade easy over a wide range, even though I didn't really need to use it much once set. This helmet worked so well that I could forget I was wearing it. Very pleased, especially for the price.Both the pre-installed battery and the spare were too low on charge when I received them to activate the lens, but after placing under a bright light overnight, it worked fine. Ordered a few spares anyway. They are cheap. Nice that you get spare outer and inner shields. Nice that you can order a magnifier lens that slides in. Works fine if you wear glasses as well. Also an attractive helmet.Took a little trial and error to get it adjusted properly for my big head, but once I got it, it was comfortable to wear.So I really like the helmet and consider it a good value. No hesitation recommending it to others.

I am a professional fabricator and weld a lot.Pros. The price vs what you get. This is a deal especially for a student, amateur welder or someone that welds part time. For the welder that takes care of their equipment, this helmet would work. This helmet comes with a very, very comfortable headband that is simple and easy to adjust. You can wear this helmet for hours. The auto darkening lense is the best operating lense I have had so far. I haven't been flashed once yet in two weeks of operating this unit and its shade is equal across the lense. This helmet is lightweight and feels better balanced than other helmets I have had.Cons. There is a slight level of visual distortion from the outer plastic lense. It has not been an issue while welding as its not enough of a factor to impede welding. The helmet feels thin and flimsy compared to other helmets, but on the upside, I don't think it'll crack as flexible as it is.

Factory batteries are trash. I thought the helmet was broken 2 weeks in. Might as well save yourself the time and put good batteries in when you first get it. Hood is comfortable, lots of adjustability, and pretty durable. Doubt it would hold up as a pipeline welder but for someone who welds from time to time this hood is everything you could ask for.

I'm not a welder by trade, but this helmet is excellent for my welding hobby. The viewing area is huge compared to traditional helmets. Great that I can use for welding and grinding jobs. No switching safety gear. Keep the helmet on as you work.

The peripheral vision to the sides is a little gimmicky, but the large front view area is really nice. I am a sculptor and every weld is a little different. This lets me make final adjustments with the shield down and actually see what is going on. My only issue is with the headband. It is comfortable enough, but just a little clunky. My helmet is constantly off and on, and I need to do that with one hand. The headband has a separate swiveling area on the back of the head which doesn't seem necessary. It is overall comfortable - just not perfect for my personal needs. I would buy the helmet again for the set up visibility / welding functionality, and particularly at this price point.

The welding shade indicator dial should be highlighted in white so that the operator can clearly see where the dial is set. It also should have a click detent slot so that it doesn’t move so freely. I had to tape mine in place because it moved during operation.

Overall good helmet. Dials on side do not have physical/audible click - this would improve helmet if added.

Big upgrade to my Lincoln helmet. The range of visibility is a huge plus. Used it as soon as I got it. Clean and overall would recommend to anyone on the fence about it. Comes with extra lense protection.
