Perfect supplement, works great
The media could not be loaded. The Mag Float on its own does a decent job cleaning up light algae on the side of the tank but it struggles with anything more stuck on or in tricky corners. I've found this does a really great job easily lifting that stuff up so far. I would imagine with really tough algae crud you'd still need a traditional blade scraper, but so far this is taking off everything in my tank easily. It's very satisfying how easily it lifts off.I wasn't sure if it was safe to leave the blade in the tank due to the possibility of rusting so I contacted Mag Float customer service and got this reply: "If you decide to leave your blades inside your tank we recommend changing the blades every 3 to 6 months due to rusting. However if you take out your blades after every use you wouldn't have to change it till about a year or so." I am planning on leaving it in the tank and just replacing the blade if I notice any rusting. With the blades being stainless steel I am not expecting this to happen very quickly.

Works well
These blades work well to remove spot algae from glass fish tanks. They are easy to attach to the mag-float. They also do not scratch the glass of the tank. Even though they are called blades, they are fairly blunt, so it's unlikely that you'd cut yourself.

Quick shipping and good product.
It's exactly what I needed to clean my tank with and if there's anything more after trying it out I'll be updating my post.

Works well with just a little elbow grease
The Mag-Float Scraper works as advertised. It has made removal of stubborn algae much easier. Just be careful near the silicone seal.

Great tool!
Scrapes real good. Recently had an outbreak of cyanobacteria. I got rid of it with blue-green stain remover like always (great product btw) but it always leaves what I'd describe as hard polyps on the glass. Even in death cyanobacteria is troublesome. The mag float just glides over them which is impressive given how coarse the brush is. The scraper attachment can take them off in 1-3 passes. It's also great for the boarder between the substrate and the water (though I would stay away from that boarder if you use fine gravel, sand or any substrate that can scratch glass. It's easy to accidentally drag some behind the blade) It did not scratch my glass, but I wasn't worried that it would. I wonder if those that scratched their "glass" have acrylic aquariums. DON'T USE METAL ON ACRYLIC. They do make an acrylic blade though. It doesn't beat a well made long handled scraper when there's a lot of buildup to deal with but for regular cleaning it's the best. The more time you can keep your hands out of your aquarium the healthier it will be.

Why didn't I order this sooner?
The scraper blades have made a HUGE improvement to the cleaning power of Mag-floats. Now I can get the sand line and corners cleaner than ever and I don't have to put my hands/arms in the tanks to do so. I was very happy to see this came in a 2 pack, so that I could have a scraper blade for both of reef tanks, I use the small size in my Fluval Evo 13.5 gal and the medium in my 60 gallon cube. This has been one of the best purchases I've made since I started this hobby! The only negative I've found with having the blades installed, is now I how to remove my Mag-floats after each use instead of leaving them in the tank 24-7 (due to them being metal). I couldn't remove the blades either after I put them on, due to coraline and such growing on them from before... they are on there to stay.Anyway I do highly recommend them, my main reason for not buying blades sooner was because I knew I would have to start removing the Mag-floats each time, but I have to admit the added cleaning power has made it worth the extra effort.

Great when the blade is straightened...ugh
Overall this is a great product. When it works it really works well. The problem with it is that the blades are thin and do not stay straight to scrape the maximum surface area per swipe (if that makes sense?). Also, the blades should be removed from the Mag-Float while not in use.The blades are difficult to install and remove and extra CAUTION needs to be taken since the blades do not clip on or off as easily as they could. Not fun to pry plastic with a blade on the opposite end.To make things extra fun, the blades are not easy to straighten. Trying to press them back and forth on a hard flat surface then put it back in the tank to test it, then back out, then straightened again, the back in the tank........... every time the blade enters the tank is not what these seemed.Mag-Float makes great products, but these blade attachments should not be so thin that they don’t hold shape constantly. Not sure if these will be purchased again or a competitors once these wear out.
