Lord and Lady Bunny--Almost Royalty! (Mr. and Mrs. Bunny)

I had such a thrilling romp last year reading the first tale of Mr. and Mrs. Bunny to my son. His grandmother came to town and we read it all over again, so that she could laugh along with us. Believe me--these are great read aloud characters! They are endearingly warm and droll and well-defined. Mr. and Mrs. B. play off of each other like a 1930's screwball comedy team-- loving and yet driving each other crazy throughout. In this book, The Bunnies reappear in their next adventure with their friend, Madeline and her relaxed hippie parents, heading off on a sea voyage to England. My mom and son and I all love the rude, outspoken characters like Mrs. Treaclebunny, and the previous book's Grand Poobah Fox, and the Marmot. They are some of the series' most delicious fun! With all of Polly Horvath's books--bring along your dictionary, as she delights in challenging and elevating your vocabulary. Ultimately, though, it is the heart and loving playfulness of this charming lagomorphic couple that has us pinning our hopes on a third book--for more guarantees of fun. Hope so!

Great sequel to the adorable book Mr. and Mrs. Bunny, Detectives Extraordinaire. I read the first one to my daughter and we BOTH loved it. It's fun and cute with bunnies etc, but also sophisticated enough to keep you interested. Lots of humor, but a great story too.

After hearing these stories on CD, we had to buy the books. Awesome writing and very entertaining for the whole family.

My 12 and 9 year old boys loved the first book of this series. I read it out loud to them and we got lots of laughs from it. This book though did not hold their attention as much and was lacking funny characters. There were still some cute parts, but we were disappointed in the story line.

An excellent continuation for this ultra-fun couple!
