NOVICA Colonial Wood And Leather Jewelry Box, Brown 'Colonial Treasure'

I purchased this item as a gift for my mom's birthday last month. She was ecstatic. Her review is below. "I was looking at the charming jewelry boxes from NOVIA for a while and just couldn't decide which one to buy between two of them. My wonderful son bought the bigger one for me for my birthday. I was so excited and happy when I unwrapped the package and saw the beautiful jewelry box. It's very well made and I was just in awe of the pristine craftsmanship. That's hard to come by nowadays! Even though the lock is a little bit tricky to lock and to unlock, in my mind the box is worth every penny. In fact, I recently placed an order for the other jewelry box that I admired and can't wait to receive it. 😊 "

I was looking for a unique, spectacular box to display my rare silver coins and this is the one treasure chest I selected from the hundreds I reviewed. Since I was a kid I have always been infatuated with pirates, silver, gold and treasure chests. I still search and find rare silver coins and I have many hundreds - but no way to present them with the respect they deserve. I received this box and filled it to overflowing with over 1500 coins and it is breathtaking. I have now ordered another (the Colonial Mystique) to contain the overflow and newly found coins. The artisan is a master craftsman and his attention to detail and exactness can be found in every square inch of this magnificent treasure chest. I highly recommend supporting such artisans.

I couldn’t be more pleased with this! The craftsmanship is exquisite, it really is. It smells of new leather from the connecting lid strap and the wood detail is flawless. I bought this to start a new family Christmas tradition, so I needed something beautiful and timeless. The only thing that would make it better is two keys instead of one, but I knew that when I purchased. Lock works fine; no issues. Packaging was a little worrisome...it came unwrapped in a damaged (partially open/dented) box. Fortunately the chest had no damage at all.

The box is very beautiful and it nicely fits the memorial items I’m keeping inside. The only downside is the packaging. As you can see, they stuffed it into a small and tight cardboard box without any bubble wrap or any other protective material. It appears that because of this, it ended up with a couple scuff marks. Also, the key doesn’t sit well and is slightly angled downward when left in the keyhole. The lid itself stays open nicely and sits flush when closed. Overall it is a very nice box and I’m keeping it, just wish they would’ve packaged it better when shipping.

This chest is sublimely well crafted from very fine materials. The packaging was done to remarkably high and secure standards, obviously to protect the box during a long journey. The moment I unwrapped the paper around the chest, I could smell the leather. The tooling of the leather is of the highest order. This product was made and shipped with love in every respect. The people who designed and manufactured this product clearly are perfectionists. It is true, as other reviewers have noted, that the back of the lid does not align with the chest in the same way that the front of the lid aligns with the chest. This is not the result of poor craftsmanship but in order to accommodate the hinge attachment on the back of the lid. For me it’s certainly not a problem, and I doubt that most people would even notice it while the box was on display on a table. This is not a toy for children. It a work of art and should be handled as such. The interior of the chest is also beautifully crafted. It took a while for the chest to arrive, but it was worth the wait.

This box is beautiful & holds my journals in my meditation space. It is well done, haven’t had a need to test the lock tho that seems to be the biggest complaint. Get a lockbox w/ alarm attached!!

A rich leather scent greeted me immediately upon opening the shipping box, which arrived on the first day of their estimated time window for delivery. The measurements are exact and true-to-life, and the wooden box itself is sturdy with a nice heft and beautifully stained to match the leather detailing. It is solid all around, including the bottom. The lock works effortlessly, and the distinctive key is easily identifiable to the box, no risk of it being lost in the shuffle. The leather paneling on the lid and sides is richly detailed, better than I'd dared hope for a new item. This box looks and feels like an exceptionally well-preserved antique, and goes well with antique furnishings.
