Nice new taste!
As an American, brown sauce is not a staple here, and I only found out about it through a Facebook group I belong to. I was not prepared. It was way more tart than I was expecting, and that's only because I'm a baby when it comes to tart things. This probably isn't too tart for normal people. However, I really like it. Like, a lot. It's way different than any condiment I've used. I mean, it's only kind of like ketsup in that it may have walked in the same room. But it's SO good with cheese pizza. It gives foods a nice lively sort of mouth taste. Gives it an exciting pep! With how low the price is on the duo pack I bought, I really recommend at the very least trying it.

All good
It came well packaged in the time frame promised. My wife is British. She likes it. Questionable name ( like lots of British food items) . Better than spotted dick I guess.

The same amazing taste...
Daddies was my favorite brown sauce when I lived in England. Goes great with Bacon and Eggs, and right on up to Steak.

Not how I remember it
Today, I had my first Daddies brown sauce in over eight years, and I have to say I was disappointed and suprised by the fact that I could be disappointed in it. You DO NEED to shake the bottle now, otherwise you will get a very strong burst of apple and black pepper to begin with. However there is an odd, slightly chemically aftertaste. It is a little thinner than it used to be, and I think this odd flavour is the thickening agent? I think that might be part of what has changed? So now the sauce is not as thick, the contents are more likely to separate out, and they have added so much of the 'new' thickening agent, that you can really taste it now? That is what I am guessing. I did notice that it says on the bottle now that it is made in Poland, so maybe the flavour changed when they made it in another country? Sadly it now joins some of my other fondly-remembered foods that are not the same anymore (like Westler's hot dogs), or are not made anymore at all - Like Tiger brown sauce, Smith's savoury vinegar crisps and chipsticks. At least my suppliers (The Gracia Store), were excellent! I know some sellers of British things have problems with some buyers thinking a product is out of date. Please always remember that on genuine British products, the dates are different - It goes day, MONTH, then year - NOT month, DAY, then year as in America. Finally, brown sauce seems to be thought of for beef "only". No! It goes very well pork or cheese. A friend also introduced me one Christmas to the delights of turkey leftovers sandwiches with Daddies...and they were wonderful! I would never have considered Daddies with chicken or turkey as it did not sound very nice to me, but I was wrong.

A British Delight
As an American who once traveled in the UK and loved some of their condiments, it was a nice surprise to fine the tasty, thick and creamy sauce available on Amazon. I love a squirt on potatoes or meat or anything, other than ice cream. It does seem a bit pricey, but it does come from a long way across the ocean. It’s well worth the small touch of extra price to have this back in my pantry.
