Kids love the playful designs on the Stearns Original Puddle Jumper Kids Life Jacket Vest, while parents appreciate the U.S. Coast Guard-approved safety features that the authentic orginal offers. Whether they’re in the pool, at the beach, or on a boat, kids move and swim freely, get a confidence boost if they are learning how to swim, and pick up valuable water safety habits they can use for life. For greater peace of mind, the Original Puddle Jumper's safety buckle snaps in the back to keep kids from taking vests off on their own; be sure to tighten the adjustable strap for a secure fit.

Counterfeit Puddle Jumpers from non Amazon vendors
Puddle jumper I received was counterfeit with poor stitching. Attached some photos to compare a real puddle jumper vs the counterfeit (in bottom of photos). There are no Stearns logos on the counterfeit, no distinguishing numbers like Model # or Coast Guard Approval #, its much smaller in size and artwork is clear poorly done. Most importantly this is a safety hazard and a child could drown. This listing is selling both fake and real puddle jumpers so do not buy from any vendor that is not Amazon. Amazon should not allow these vendors to sell these products! I called amazon and they had no way to just stop these vendors from selling here. Really disappointing.

Nice for toddlers, but be careful
My 2 year old loves kicking around and having some independence in this. And he kicks his little legs so hard he burns off a lot of energy, which I appreciate. He has a LOT more fun with this on than he does without it and just with me holding him. However, as a former lifeguard, I have mixed feelings about this. I do think that floaties give both parents and children a false sense of security in the water, so if you're going to use them, do not take your eyes off your child for a second. Not one. And make sure your child doesn't have access to a pool because they may not realize that they can't float and kick around like that without their floaties and just jump in thinking they can play without them. I'm sure everyone knows this, but I don't think it caution can be expressed enough when it comes to toddlers and pools.

Baby seeks freedom!
He's 10 months-old today, weighing about 8.5 kg/ 19 lbs and has decided that he is too big for a baby floatie ring. He loves the independence of the Puddle-Jumper and independently changes from feet forward to feet under to feet back, all with head out of the water. He deliberately dips his mouth in though to taste the water! I've used these before for kids 15 months to 8 years, but 8 months was a first. He cries in protest if we put him in the baby ring! The Puddle Jumper gives freedom!! Big brother is the sizeof a 6-7 year-old and still wears the same Puddle-Jumper on a looser setting.

Knock off
This claims to be made by Stearns and it is a knock off. You can tell it was poorly made and the labels and warnings are printed wonky. I don't trust putting my child in this since the seller is missing about what brand this actually is.

Beware of Knock-off products!
This is a knock-off product. I immediately recognized the lower quality and smaller size when I pulled it out of the bag. We've bought a real Puddle Jumper by Stearns in the past, so I quickly grabbed it to compare. The product they sent me is much smaller in size, flimsy, lacks the tags and Stearns label, and has completely different safety instructions on the back. It has a horrible, acid smell as well and was shipped from China (which took almost a month to get here). I wouldn't trust my kid in it even if it fit, and he's barely 30 lbs. Beware! I'm sending this back.
