3M Accuspray Spray Gun Model HG18, 16570

Awesome gun! Great for Primer. Quick clean. The 1.8 tip puts it on thick & is exactly what I look for when spraying. nice even texture flat enough for finish coats of primer & heavy enough to build primer. Perfect. Make a 1.3 tip & i would use it for base clear! Now they just need to lower prices of lids & liners.

Because Amazon failed to deliver the cups under Amazon Prime 2 day delivery as they did this gun and the lids/liners, I haven't used this gun yet. The reason to write the review at this point is, this is the HG09 that I received and expected to get. Do note that the Amazon photo is of the newer and current model, the HG18 which has the gray bar down the grip. I've read that there were updates made to the HG18 gun other than the grip color, but not sure what they are. A call to 3M doesn't say reveal much on that subject. The low price of the HG09 here and my immediate need caused me to purchase now. So buyer beware of buying this old model even though the photo shows the newer model.As for the gun package, there is a manual inside, but less than 1.5 small pages actually cover using the gun in English. Perhaps another 2 on cleaning.More after Amazon delivers all I need to get started. Stars are required, so 4 are given.

I got this to do primer on cars as a side hobby. After hearing multiple recommendations for this gun and after all the research this is the gun I jumped on. And u do not regret a thing! It's perfect and has so little of overspray. It is plastic so you have to be careful, but I don't see myself throwing paint guns around

This spray gun works great and with the cups clean up is effortless. Would suggest buying both sizes of cups for better versatility.

I choose this product for ease of use.The problem I had with it is the atomizing head would pop off after a couple of uses do to the ears wearing down.I would recommend this product for home use, but not for a manufacturing environment.

Gun is light weight, handles easily. Clean up is a breeze. Sprays very well and is easy to use.The entire system with cups, connections, all make it a very desireable gun for primer use.

Good gun but wasn't expecting to receive the older model when the new model is clearly shown in the picture

We use these in our shop to spray water based sanding sealers and lacquers. Occasionally we will spray latex primers or paints, but not very often. We use them 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Every few months the seal around the pin goes bad and we get new guns. No big deal for us because we just keep replacing them under warranty. If you have a small shop and do minimal spraying these might last a while, but for a large shop like ours they just wear out all the time. For better coatings where we want a really good finish like tinted lacquers, catalyzed conversion varnishes we use a different gun.They're pretty versatile and cheap so they work out okay with our guys in the spray booth abusing them every day.
