The Gold Standard for UK Hiking - No Blisters!
I’ve put these Danish Endurance socks through their paces in various conditions, and they are easily the best value Merino socks on the market. COMFORT & FIT: The targeted cushioning on the heel and toe is perfect for long-distance days. They provide that "snug" feeling without being too tight, and the ventilation lanes actually work to keep your feet from overheating. PERFORMANCE: The Merino wool blend is excellent for moisture-wicking. Even after a full day on the trail, my feet stay dry and—most importantly—blister-free. They also handle the "stink test" very well, which is essential for multi-day wild camping trips. DURABILITY: Unlike some cheaper hiking socks that go thin after two washes, these maintain their shape and loft. They feel like a premium product at a fraction of the "big brand" price. PROS: + Excellent moisture management (Merino blend) + Targeted cushioning in high-impact areas + Durable and hold their shape well + Great value for a multi-pack CONS: - Make sure to follow the washing instructions (cool wash) to keep the wool in top condition. VERDICT: If you’re serious about hiking, don't skimp on your socks. These are reliable, comfortable, and built to last. A 5-star essential for any rucksack.

I no longer wear slippers indoors.
Edit -1.5 years later and still no holes in the socks, they've shrunk a little as I have put them in the dryer multiple times by mistake, they still fit, it's just made them a little tighter. Great purchase, still warm, warm outside too. Probably years left in them. My original impression view is below: I haven't worn these outside yet, but I've worn all 3 pairs inside at least twice, and washed them all three times. They're incredibly comfortable, my feet do not get hot, or cold (my house is always between 20-24C). I have a tiled kitchen which I always wear slippers in during the winter, because the floor gets cold. I haven't felt the cold floor with these socks on, I barely notice a difference between laminate and tile. My feet feel warm all day with these, they're lovely, but they are a little bit slippery on my laminate flooring. I can run and slide into the room like marty mcfly. When the socks are washed, they come out of the machine almost completely dry, which is fantastic because they're not tumble dryer compatible. I bought another brand of merino wool socks (actually with higher percentsge of merino than this brand, but cheaper - £12 for 3 pairs) to compare. In a blind touch test, my wife chose these Danish socks as the more expensive pair. I also think these feel nicer. These also come with a 1 year hole-free guarantee, so hopefully they're durable. I typically walk anywhere from 7k-15k per day. I bought on sale for £25/26 I can't recall. I'll buy more when they're on sale again, if they keep my feet warm outside. These are the best socks I've had in my 30 something years. Are they worth the price? I think so, but as with anything, don't spend above your means. If you can comfortably afford them, and you want warm socks, get them. The colours are nice, too.

Nice socks, just be sure to wash them cold.
Comfortable socks, nice and warm, in good colours, and unusually in a nice big size. But be warned: wash them at 30 degrees, and do not tumble dry them, otherwise they end up rather small.

Comfortable, breathable, and perfect for long days on your feet
I bought the DANISH ENDURANCE Hiking Socks for a hiking trip in the Peak District, and I can confidently say they’re some of the most comfortable and well-performing socks I’ve ever owned. If you’re serious about hiking or spend a lot of time on your feet, these socks are absolutely worth it. First off, the material blend is spot on. They’re made with a mix of merino wool, nylon, and a touch of elastane — which gives you the warmth, breathability, and moisture control of wool, with the stretch and durability needed for long hikes. The merino content makes them feel soft against the skin without any of the itchiness you sometimes get with wool products. They provide just the right amount of cushioning in key areas — heel, toe, and sole — which really helps reduce fatigue and friction. I wore them for several 10–15km hikes with mid-weight boots, and I had zero issues with rubbing, blisters, or sore spots. The compression around the arch and ankle also gives a nice supportive feel without being too tight. One of the standout features is how well they regulate temperature. They kept my feet warm in the cold, but didn’t overheat or get sweaty when the sun came out. Even after several hours of walking, they stayed dry and fresh — which is no small thing when you’re deep into a long trek. They wash well too. I’ve been through about six laundry cycles so far (cold wash, air dry), and they haven’t shrunk, bobbled, or lost their shape. Stitching is still perfect, and the padding remains plush. Another big plus: they’re designed in Denmark and produced under sustainable and ethical standards — something that I always look for when choosing clothing. It’s great to know that they’re not only high-performing but also responsibly made. Sizing is accurate — I wear a UK 9 and the Medium size fits me perfectly with no bunching or excess fabric. If I had one very small suggestion, it would be to offer some lighter colour options as well for summer wear, but that's purely cosmetic. In short, DANISH ENDURANCE Hiking Socks are warm, breathable, supportive, and built to last. Whether you're hiking, walking the dog, or just after reliable everyday comfort, these are top-tier socks. Highly recommended!

Very nice socks, beware the sizing for the larger (UK) foot.
Feels like a top quality manufactured well made walking boot sock. The footbed is well cushioned, also the heel. Lovely material. Regrettably the 'neck' of the sock is too narrow to accommodate my UK size 14 wide(ish) foot. So I could not get them on. With the sock folded over on its foot it was still too small and impossible to draw on. Pity, but for the sizing they could be great. Returned.

Great pair of hiking socks!
Managed to survive an epic hiking trip. Great value and very comfortable there's extra padding where its needed around the heel and balls of your feet. With them being merino wool they help wick away sweat reducing that SMELLY feet smell!

Superb Socks for the Seasoned Walker
I am a dog walker by trade, frequently doing eight to twelve miles of footslog a day, five days a week, and I have been doing so for four years. In that time, I have come to appreciate the value of comfortable, hard wearing boots or shoes, durable, warm, breathable and waterproof clothing, a decent hat that stays on your head in a gale, and perhaps most underrated of all, decent socks. Regular socks just don't hack it. These Danish Endurance brand walking socks are absolutely the best I have ever tried. I take a 7.5 size, and they fit perfectly, don't ride up, and offer support with thick soles, reassuringly supportive around the ankles (providing defence from painful ankle chafing when wearing boots), hard wearing and absorbent. I bought a three pair pack initially, and bought another three-pack within a couple of days, because I was so impressed with them. If you put in a lot of walking miles (with or without a dog), you MUST invest in a decent set of socks - and these Danish Endurance socks are a MUST!!!

Great Warmth and Padding, But Disappointing Performance on Sweat and Odour.
Why I Bought These Socks: I was looking for a reliable, warm sock for winter hiking and trekking. The promise of Merino wool for warmth and natural anti-odour properties combined with the thick anti-blister cushioning made the Danish Endurance socks seem like a high-value purchase for comfort on the trail. The Key Strengths (The Pros): Excellent Warmth: These socks are undeniably warm. The thick Merino blend is fantastic for insulation, keeping my feet comfortable even in very cold temperatures and during early morning hikes. Great Cushioning: The padding is substantial, especially around the heel and toe. This provides a soft, cushioned feel inside my boots, and the anti-blister cuff and overall fit did a good job of preventing rubbing and hot spots. Durable Feel: They are robustly constructed and feel like they will hold up well to many washes and rough trail use. The cuff stays up securely without slouching. The Compromise (The Cons): Too Warm/Sweat Retention: This is the main issue. The socks feel like they lack adequate breathability, leading to my feet getting noticeably sweaty during strenuous sections of the hike. They retain moisture, making my feet feel damp, which is exactly what Merino wool is supposed to mitigate. Poor Odour Control: The Merino wool blend did not live up to the hype for odour resistance. After a single full day of hiking, these socks smelled almost as bad as standard synthetic socks, unlike premium Merino brands that can often be worn for multiple days without issue. This suggests the blend (which includes synthetics) might be too heavy on the non-wool component. Slow Drying Time: Because they retain moisture (both sweat and when washed), they take a long time to air dry overnight, making them challenging for multi-day backpacking trips unless you pack multiple pairs. Final Verdict: The Danish Endurance Hiking Socks are a solid, warm, and comfortable option for low-intensity, cold-weather walks where moisture isn't a major concern. However, for serious hikers, especially those with naturally sweaty feet, the failure to effectively manage sweat and odour is a major disappointment. They are average overall due to the lack of performance in key Merino attributes. Good for warmth, poor for freshness.

A great brand that seems to have missed the mark on these.
3 issues: A. I got 2 pairs instead of 3. Amazon was kind enough to compensate me, but the packaging was really disappointing. The parcel was pretty much half open when I got it. B. The fabric is peeling more than I expected. Any kind of debree/small weeds or anything else gets lodged into the sock and takes a chunk with it when removed. C. They're not too stable and tend to slide around your foot more than other socks I've tried, even from the same brand. Pros: They're comfortable, breathable, and don't start to smell too quickly.
