I love AIMS products, this is my third inverter install with their products and I am sold! High quality and with proper cables and batteries you can definitely get 2KW out of this. Most of these bad reviews about inverters is people using cheap DC side cables not understanding the amount of current needed to get to 2KW of output. Use proper heavy gauge cable!

Made coffee in my coffee maker. Previous inverter said it was a 2000W but it turned out that was 1KW per plug for a 10 second surge and normal load was only 700W. This one is spec'ed at 1500 per plug surge with 1KW full load. My coffee maker draws 900W. That test was the accept or return test.

The first Aims modified sine wave inverter failed at about 15 months of standby duty, (sump pump backup power). Out of warranty and not repairable (at least the Aims tech I spoke with said they would not repair it), so I bought another one for my daughter, thinking this failure was a 'fluke'. The second one failed after about three months of standby duty. Aims replaced it under warranty. The warranty replacement inverter failed after two months of service. Aims has sent another warranty replacement. If this one fails I will demand a full refund. Why did I buy the second Aims inverter after the first one failed? Because I have the same inverter in my house and it has worked fine for nearly eight years. And yes, it has had to run my sump pump during power outages.

Dislikes: Minus one star for value, many other 'made in China / Asia ' inverters are priced lower. Also the warranty is only 1 year. Minus one star for "Tech Support" while they did answer in a timely manner, the person I spoke to didn't know how a mA (milliamp) related to an A (amp). I give the no load current draw as 801 mA and he asked me to give that to him in Amps (no kidding). He also stated the two AC outlets ' receptacles ' were not wired together. See photo, they clearly are. Now for the parts I liked: Quality aluminum case for heat dissipation. Output measured 120.0VAC using a Fluke True RMS meter. It did not change with a light (100W) load. Versatile LED display with voltage, DC amps or KW output. The Amazon description for this states the ' no load ' current draw is <0.2A but was measured at 801 mA with 13.5VDC applied and a Fluke mA meter, series connected. I noted an LM317T pass type voltage regulator in the unit for the 5V supply. These are old school regulator that waste a lot of power. Sure enough, it was a warm running device. The design could be improved but this is generally acceptable for my application of this product. I will update when able my findings after this is deployed in the RV.

Description says battery cables were included but they weren't.
