Good blade but on a JD 54” deck, mulching isn’t the best
Good thick quality blade for sure, I’d bush hog some with this thing it’s so thick BUT 54 JD decks setup with the mulching system doesn’t really work as well as expected. Being this design is supposed to work better at mulching I’m a hair disappointed BUT each deck design is different, these blades aren’t specifically engineered to this exact decks aerodynamics so with the mulch system it doesn’t have the grass rotation around the blade for multiple cuts per grass blade like the factory does. There a little louder then the stock blade too from the grooves cutting threw the air as it rotates. But I gotta say this, for discharge cutting I like these better then the factory “twisted wing” style, it does seem to be somewhat smaller but I noted the blade not having a down force of air on the grass would cause the cut to be more even as you went along. Meaning it wasn’t pushing grass down as it cut but instead the grass stood up as it was cut for a cleaner and more level slice on the blades. So mulching...no...discharge...yes...I don’t bag grass because I’m not a communist so don’t askI’d give it 5/5 stars to those who don’t mulch but it being sold as a premium mulch blade I subtract 1 being it doesn’t work as well in reality on this specific application, but others may work better such as craftsman’s designed decks or a kabota

Very dissapointed
I have been running Oregon Gator blades for a long time and these are the first to give me a hassleI have a John Deere Z540 i have had these issues:- The contour to the spindle is different than OEM blades to you need to be very exact with the mounting to keep the blades balanced- Very heavy, need to have the engine at ~75% to engage the blades. This might also have something to do with the spindle mount being as precise as the OEM- The weight also affected the engine performance, especially when the grass was damp- The blades were dull after <8 hours of use. Mowing the same lawn for years I have never had this type of issue with either OEM or other Gator blades- Inferior durability and performance to the OEM mulching bladesMakes me wonder if they changes manufacturing process or country. But from a loyal Oregon customer I will search elsewhere before buying these blades again.

Heavy and strong! Make sure your machine is up to the task!
These are beast level, I like the gator style over the stock mulcher blades. My JD blades bent on a semi buried stump, an unfair accidental test. These I don’t think would bend, good and bad to that as the force has to go somewhere but that is why they have belts to slip. The down side of these monsters is that they are heavy, my brand new JD 380 23HP Kaw with 54” deck bogs when these spin up. Max throttle and cut away no problem and these as they turn grass and leaves into 1/4” pieces to feed back into the soil.

Love these blades
I started using these blades a few years back and will not buy anything else now. They have fit and worked very well on all the mowers I have used them on (3 so far) and they seem to wear better than anything else I have tried. They last long enough that I usually just buy new ones and replace rather than wasting time trying to clean and sharpen and balance the old ones. My time is worth something...

Doesn't Fit
I bought these for a 2002 John Deere 757 54" cut and these didn't fit my deck. I'm not sure what deck I had but the center hole on my blades is 15/16" and these are 13/16". I recommend measuring the blades you have before ordering. Luckily I know a machinist and he is drilling the center hole out bigger for me. The blades are substantially thicker and wider than OEM.

Great blades for my 54" Z425
Great blades for my 54" Z425. I used to sharpen my original blades until I found these at a great price. Night and day difference in how the yard looks. I no longer have large clumps of grass lining my yard when I can't get to mowing right away.

Massive Mower blades
These blades are super thick material.Would say about almost double the weight as the normal john deere blades.Fit perfectly and mow great. Should probably hold forever.Sometimes I run over branches in the pasture, which regular killed some of the thinner blades.Be aware that they need a lot of power to spin up. So nothing for the smaller lawn mower engines.

Oregon 396-719 PK3 Gator G6 Mulcher Blades - 18-15/16"
I like these blades as they are 1/4" thick and do not bend. They stay sharper longer and really tak a beating. There was a tornado that went thru my subdivision on 05/28/2019 and there was a horrible amount of shingles , small tree limbs & sticks in the yard and I mowed over all that crap and they chewed that up like candy and they are still in good shape. I also mowed 3 acres of standing field that had all kids of trash in it that my son-in-law would not mow with his swather and bale it for feed. I highly recommend these blades to anyone
