3 inch Wooden Round Ball, Bag of 2 Unfinished Natural Round Hardwood Balls, Smooth Birch Balls, for Crafts and DIY Projects (3 inch Diameter) by Woodpeckers

I am trying to repair a damaged statue that has a missing globe, and I bought these hoping the size would be right so I could rebuild the globe, but they were a little small. I was able to return them without problem and my 4 inch balls are due today. These are really nice wooden balls - perfectly smooth and round and made of hard, good quality wood. If I had any other need of them I would have kept them--they are that nice--and I was pleased by speed of shipping and the ease of exchanging them.I am updating this to include the 4 inch balls, that just arrived today. They are perfect - just as well made and smooth as the ones I returned. I couldn't ask for better.

Crafting

I bought these to make eyeballs. Worked perfectly and the wood is so nice!

The balls were very smooth and I didn’t have to do any additional sanding before painting for my project. I ended up screwing about 60 screws into each ball and not once did I have wood splits.

Expensive (why they received a four star); however, they are heavy and do not require further sanding.

I had originally ordered white porcelain cabinet knobs for my craft project, but they were going to be on backorder until the end of March. I collect BYERS CHOICE CAROLERS and this year I decided to buy a starter set for each of my two granddaughters in GA. The street light I had purchased for my set years ago was very small. The one I designed and made (3) of is a better scale for the Carolers. The base is a sq. molding piece, then I cut both ends off a wooden railing spindle. My husband drilled a hole in the center of the molding and a hole about an inch in depth into the bottom of the one spindle end. Those two were attached with a short piece of wooden dowel. At the top I glued a 3/4" I.D. brass ring and the wooden ball was then glued to the top. They not only look nice with the BYERS CAROLERS, but would look nice with any small Christmas Scene you might setup on a table during the Christmas holidays. These wooden balls were so smooth when they arrived, that I didn't even have to sand them before painting. I also want to mention how fast after placing my order, that they were shipped and I also want to mention that I ordered them through Amazon.com. I used these to make a craft for garden decor. They had to have a lot of holes drilled in them and I am happy to say the drill did not split the balls.
