Skinceuticals Retinol 0.5 Refining Night Cream, 1 Fluid Ounce

This was recommended by my dermatologist in Harley Street, and I'd heard really good things about this brand so was excited to try it.It's far more potent than anything you can buy in the shops and you need to be very careful when using this to get the best results. You need to start on a weaker % of retinol before moving to the 0.5% I initially used a 0.1% and then moved to the Skinceuticals 0.3% potency which comes in a pump tube.When you first begin using retinols you can get a lot of redness, irritation, peeling and generally your skin can look worse for a few weeks before it starts to look better. It is recommended that you start off slowly, only using twice a week and gradually increasing the usage. If you experience irritation, have a few days of using the product.You only need to use a tiny amount as it is very potent and avoid the eye area. I usually apply after cleansing and toning, then wait until the product is absorbed and then apply my night cream. Retinols are not for daytime use as the active ingredients will break down in daylight.You also need to wear a good SFP of minimum factor 30 with good UVA protection as the skin will be more sensitive to the sun and more susceptible to ageing and burning.The only thing I wish was different about this is that I would prefer a pump tube rather than this toothpaste style tube. A tube of this lasts me around 6 months and I just think the pump style packaging is more hygienic and makes it easier to dispense the right amount of product.I have been using retinols consistently for 1 year now and very pleased with the results. My skin is smoother, more radiant and although it's not working miracles at getting rid of wrinkles, (I am 41 now!) my skin is glowing and looks fresher.My skin tolerates the 0.5% well now and I am able to use it every other night without issues. I am looking forward to trying a higher potency version once I finish this tube and will be sticking with the Skineceuticals range.Would highly recommend and will be re-purchasing. - Amazon was the cheapest I could find on line so great value too!

I use this product--and only this product--overnight. It accomplishes everything it promises. My face glows and looks refreshed in the morning.

Fantastic product for maintenance between salon peels!

Amazing how small the tube you get inside a very large box. The size of the box is presumably why the price is so high. Difficult to recommend either way as changes if any are very slwo to appear.
