You are a seasoned archaeologist who is competing against your colleagues to find the most Scarabs relics. These golden Beetle amulets are extremely valuable as they can help solve ancient mysteries about the long-gone civilizations that created them. They are known to be scattered across the world: buried in the Egyptian desert, hidden deep in the rainforest, immersed in the Bermuda triangle, and Frozen in Antarctica. To find them, lead your team on an expedition to set up camps and mark out areas of excavation. Will you be the archaeologist who finds the most Scarabs and uncovers the mysteries of scarabya?

Fun polyomino game with simple rules but interesting choices
Despite marginal component quality (the tiles may tear a bit while punching them out and the multi-piece boards may be difficult to fit perfectly within the frames), this is a very fun game that has easy rules but challenging choices. Each player's board will be set up the same way. Players will place identical polyomino tiles simultaneously on their own board with a total of 12 tiles being placed each game. The order in which the tiles come out and the configuration of the boards will change every game, so replayability is good. The goal is to surround scarabs in areas of no more than 4 squares. Your score for each enclosed area is the number of squares times the number of scarabs that are visible within. Good for families and those who like relaxing but interesting puzzle/polyominoes games. I may pick up a second copy so that we can play with up to 8 players!

I love this game
I played Scarabya a few times at game night and loved it so much I decided to buy it for myself. The price was decent and there is some 'thinking' involved. It is a polyomino style game (having tetris-style pieces). It arrived fast and in great condition. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the 4 panels that are supposed to fit inside the frame were just a tad to large for the frame. We could get them to fit but that bent the frame slightly. It didn't really detract from the game but the slight bending of the frame was noticable. This is neither an Amazon or creator problem. It has to due to production I suppose since the original version I played all fit perfect.

Appears to be a returned item
I ordered this game as a gift. Upon taking it out of the Amazon box, I immediately noticed the clear stickers that act as seals keeping the bottom of the box and lid closed had been cut on both sides. The lid was able to be easily removed, causing me to think it had been a returned item that was resold. While all parts of them game were inside and intact, I was highly disappointed to have to give a game that had already been opened as a new gift. It was obvious someone had neatly cut both seals prior to shipping.

skip it
Absolutely boring game with little replay ability and completely mis-leading subject matter.
