This is for sock size 10-13 which fits shoe size 6-12.

Are these socks thinner on the top of the foot compared to the bottom, or the same thickness and material type all the way around?

I think they are the same thickness all around.

Are they padded well enough for walking while playing golf?

These are the only socks wear. They've got great cushion. I use the crew length for everyday use and the so-show when playing golf. I used to buy the crew length at Sam's but they no longer stock them.
